DeLonghi Rialto Expresso Machine EAM-4500

You need to reset it. Unplug machine, remove waste container and tray. Put the waste container back in without the tray and slide a knife under the waste container, close door. Plug in. It should reset. Turn off, replace tray and waste container and turn unit back on.

Easier, call their 800 number and they'll walk you thru it.

Took tray and grounds tray out to clean and it

I had this problem last night. The infuser was stuck down too low and the tray wouldn't slide in. I got the solution from FIXYA, and it worked for me.

First make sure machine is off at power, then put just the coffee grounds collector and not the whole tray back into place, gently close the door, and then turn the machine back on. At first I couldn't close the door, but I fgured that the grounds collector was a bit too low, so just put something in there to hold it up while I shut the door. Turn the machine back on at power and HEY PRESTO, it all started up again, and then the infuser moved back into correct position.

Make sure you have a cup handy just incase water starts to rinse out.

Hope this helps

Insert brewing unit message comes up after pressing start

The unit may not be fully inserted. Remove it and see if the housing behind it is loose. It is held in by two screws. Tighten these with an Allen key and hopefully the unit will be properly seated when you insert it.

Fill tank flashing

You need to check sensors first with multimeter or you can go to service mode by pressing two buttons(I don't remember which) in front and plug machine on and check there your machine. There should be two sensors one for tank to be inserted that's called micro switch and another one for water level you should see black magnet in your water tank as you fill it with water it will rise up.

Not hot enough

There is a setting between "Warm, Normal, Hot and Extra Hot" however no espresso machine will "boil" the coffee, as this would burn the coffee and taste disgusting.. The best thing to do is to zap the coffee for a little while in the microwave if you like a scalding cup of coffee..

Delonghi Rialto Magnifica EAM4500 won't remember custom programming

Often these buttons do "forget" their programs. If the unit's power supply is interrupted it can cause this. Otherwise check the board in the control panel, this contains the "memory" circuits.

Relace water pump

I have the same unit and replaced the pump a few months ago. I took the pictures below as I did it. First, unplug the unit and remove the water tank. Now go to the back and remove the six screws: e4dd6dfd-e199-407c-9d69-b749bfa7da05.jpg Now slide the side panels toward the back of the unit until you can pull them away from the sides: 1cb2b880-bef5-4d07-b314-4af92d2a7799.jpg Here's the view from the back: 21963f94-c031-444c-ac03-a1cc49daca70.jpg The pump is on the right with the green and white label on the side. It looks like this: 8480e0e3-98bc-4485-9da7-f7b92472a988.jpg Now disconnect the 3 hoses going to the pump and the 2 wires. Again, the unit needs to be unplugged as the pump uses 120VAC. 92a13873-8121-4e61-b267-1b7374334ce1.jpg cc1e48dd-1ac2-4061-9b2e-8ca49f9de340.jpg a805eca3-b457-442c-84cd-69f519cf07e6.jpg The hoses are attached in three different ways on mine. One has a simple clamp you remove with pliers, one uses a cotter-pin that you pull out with pliers, and the bottom hose is just a friction fit. It is pretty obvious but of course keep track of what goes where. The wires might require a bit of pulling so be careful. The only thing tricky I can recall is that the top fitting of the pump (where the top 2 hoses are attached) is screwed on to the pump so after the hoses are removed you can gently unscrew it from the pump. 9c9a76ed-5cce-4a88-ae44-b049eceaa974.jpg

EAM3500S will not froth milk ?

Here's what I did... with great success:
If you've cleaned all the milk deposits from around the o rings and you still have a problem then its almost certainly the milk spout (the little pipe that directs foamy milk into your cup)

Detatch the spout and get a 2.5 mm drill bit and use it to clean all the milk deposits out of the part that plugs into the lid. Rinse through with water to clean away all the bits of hard milk.

[If you put water through the spout before and after, you will notice a dramatic difference]

Doing this completely fixed the problem for me (I had about 3 years of milk build up in mine!).
