It wants you to format the card in the camera. This will erase the card so download any pictures on it first using a card reader if necessart.

For one pic at a time, bring up the pic you want to delete and press the button with the trash can icon. Follow the on-screen instructions. To delete all pictures at once, just go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

Take it to a repair facility, you may be lucky.

If you do a complete format of the card, that should do the deed.

The DC-FZ7 uses SD cards, not SDHC cards. SD cards max out at 2GB.

Do neither the manual nor the manufacturer's site provide this information ?

"Reset file No." is the reset for the numbering system on your file folders only. You want to use just "Reset" which will reset the entire camera back to factory settings.

Go to Panasonic website support and download the software!

looks like it may be ccd problem or loose connection, reset the camera with full charged batteries, light bang the camera with you hand at the base, do this with camera on

OK you are probably going to think I am loony giving you this advise But No I am completely sane!

Get a can of compressed air OR acces to a compressor at your local garage Get them to fit the triggered air blower tool to it.

Blow around the lens in all the extension joins the firmly slap it in the palm of you hand with the side of the camera making contact with you palm. Do the procedure two or 3 times and inbetween the slaps turn it on to activate the lens mechanism. I have now fixed about 80 of these cameras with this method. I obtained the fix from a camera repairer who charges $90 to do exactly the same. Keep at it as it will eventually work. One tip, make sure the battery is charged before you do this.

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.



If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.
