Ppanasonic NV-GS60 LCD not working

Hi.My name is Rick and I am the owner and technician of Discount Camera Repair. The problem you are experiencing is most likely caused by a faulty flex cable that connects the LCD to the camera and can be repaired fairly inexpensively but will require disassembly by a qualified technician. If I can be of any help please call or email me. I'll be happy to repair the camera for you.

How do you reset the counter when shooting video?

The resetting of the counter is not a problem. As a matter of fact you can not reset it because it is meant to be continuous as long as the video is the same. However there is way around it. After recording your first part when you want to reset you go to 'play'. You play forward for less than a second and stop. When you go back to record the camera resets itself and thinks its starting a new video. It goes back to 000. You keep on doing this when you want to reset again. Normally in professional circles the time code should be continuous for editing with professional Non linear editing software that's why the cameras do not reset the time code. But you can get along the way I have told you here for your purpose.

It got a very slight amount of water splashed on

Unfortunately, I had this problem before with a waterproof camera!

Once the water bridged the circuits, it did irreparable damage.

If it had dried out WITHOUT voltage running through the camera, it might not have caused any issues.

Best option is to remove any batteries and power cables, and let it dry out completely. Check to see if the problem persists, and if so, consult the manufacturer for a repair.

I have a Panasonic PV-GS39

This type of camera usually downloads better with a Firewire (DV) connection. Some mini-DV cameras only use the USB connection (if they have one) for stills and can only download video by Firewire. This is because you have to play the tape into the computer, not just copy a file. The way it works on my computer, the camera is controlled by the computer software.

Most PCs have a USB port, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB. As most Windows PCs do not come with this interface, you might need to fit an add-on Firewire interface card. This will come with a driver for the card.

Whether this will work with Windows 7, I am not sure. My Mini-DV camera, using a Firewire cable, didn't need any camera driver loaded to the computer, just the movie editor that came with Windows XP.

I have windows 7 and want to put my movies onto

The chances are that a USB cable from your PC wont work on any windows newer than XP, you like myself will need Firewire cable from a good camera store.

My windows 7 laptop does not recognize my

You are going to have to check that your firewire is being seen by windows 7 first of all. If not you will need to rectify that.
When you do get it to recognize it, here is a link for an update to the program that came with your camcorder for it to work with Windows Vista but it should also work for Windows 7.

Go to the following URL:

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/MiniDV-Camcorders/Drivers-Downloads/model.PV-GS39.D#ts

There you will find the driver files you need to connect to your computer. The file should also have instructions on how to load the driver onto your hard drive.

Blue Bars and No Sound

My advice is that you should by a DV cleaning cassette. Put this in the camera and run it for 10 to 20 seconds only. running the cleaning cassette for a long time may damage the head.
good luck!

Same probs, appears ther is no solution!!!!

Contact the equivalent of consumer affairs or buyer protection dept ombudsman. State your finds and try and get this sorted at a higher level. Do your homework and produce the data. You could also get onto a current affairs type program to speak about your experience and findings
