I would seek help from Sunpak customer service

I would first: Check the test button on the flash - if all is good (and light flashes when button pushed), then second: switch camera AND flash to manual mode and with flash attached, hit shutter release. flash should pop. if all is good, I would use manual settings to set exposure for room I am in (yes, indoors) - and then flash again. Flash should go off on attached strobe (not internal flash). If yes - then I would move camera to an auto mode and repeat. If not - then I would check settings to find out whether I have turned off hot shoe or hot shoe is otherwise blocked from completing electrical circuit. If the camera is relatively new, consider re setting to factory settings.

There is an INTERNAL battery that you cannot change. This battery controls the memory and functions. When the battery dies, you must send the camera in for service.

First, I'm not a Nikon tech. * Wow, old school. I had 3 nikkormats even the 1/2 frame one. Well I still got them but I use my phablet now. * Sticky shutter usually means the camera needs cleaning and probably a spring replacement. The shutter is exposed every time the lens is taken off or the back is opened. * Lots of stuff and dirt gets into the body. Put an OLD card it and GO to TOOL menu and then FORMAT the card. if it cannot Format try another card. If it fails more than a few times the camera 'may' have problems.

All I can say is FIRST is to fully charge the battery. If they are not rechargeable put fresh ones in.

Sounds like a dead battery OR an OLD battery that will not take a charge. I cannot answer that with information you gave me. Many of the Power Up Functions Briefly use lots of power. While it is Off, hook it to power adapter and make sure GREEN LED blinks When it Stops Blinking then Disconnect it and Try to turn it on. if it works once or twice the battery is bad and needs replacement. If it never works you may have issue with camera. What goes with old batteries is capacity. It dies quickly.

Search for LENS ERROR here. It is a COMMON problem.

The behavior you describe is a camera connected to a computer and it changes WHILE the computer sees the camera and it is ON (computer). When you shut down the Computer it will blink rapidly and it will not charge. if you charge with POWER ADAPTER. It will only BLINK while it charges. When it STOPS blinking it is FULLY charged.

1) Make sure it is fully charged. 2) make sure you have enough light and it can focus. This question is way too open. 1000 things could be off. Most cameras need power. many modes REQUIRE a Good Focus before it will take a photo.

Just putting in a memory card will not necessarily give your camera memory. Step 1 will all cards is a FORMAT FUNCTION when the card is first installed. It ALSO has to be a compatible card.

Nikon has done what many companies have done. Taken parts off their website. This means you cannot BUY anything but accessories. This forces you to send it to a Nikon Certified Service Center where they'll QUOTE the job before repairing it. If you send a camera in always ask about cleaning it too. (if it is old).

Please turn off the camera BEFORE you plug it in. Most cameras start-up in connected mode when you do this. Please understand this may NOT help you. It is merely all I can offer.
