My printer (Canon MP830) will not read my memory

Did you let the camera format the sd card before you took your pictures? Have you tried another sd card? Its possible the pc did not close the card properly so the printer does not see it. I would try another card before going any further. Make sure your setting on the printer is set to read only (in "Other" settings) if at read/write you will not be able to print.

Is there a video on canon pixma mp830 printers? How to change ink cartridges?

With the machine powered on, open the top cover (including the scanner unit). The cartridge carriage and printhead will move to the center. locate the cartridge needing to be replaced (flashing light or light off) push the clip at the front top corner forward and the cartridge will pop up slightly. Remove and replace. To replace a cartridge remove any nozzle clips and the airway seal tape. Slide the new cartridge into the appropriate slot angling slightly down the in. press down until it clicks in place. If it feels difficult , try again - don't force it. When done, close the cover down and your machine should do a self clean and go.

Error code 6A00, alarm light flashing, no copy, print or fax function working

I tried everything. I unplugged the machine and moved the printer cartridges to the far left and cleaned and pressed down the spring loaded sponge on the right, over and over again. I also moved the springloaded thing (w/white plastic) forward and backward. Another suggestion was to move the print cartridge holder back and forth sideways. None of these things helped. And there was nothing visibly out of place. I was stumped. Then I found a thread that suggested Windex!!! Even though the error seemed to correlate with a paper jam that had occurred, I was ready to try anything. I got paper towels and windex (I didn't have an eye dropper). I sprayed the paper and cleaned where the cartridges normally sit. Nothing. In desperation I sprayed each pad below the cartridge in the middle area and I sprayed the "sponge" thingy to the right. Really soaked it. Cycled the on/off about 3 times and IT WORKS! (Fingers are black but that's a minor issue compared to unhooking and transporting and waiting and paying for service...) When you cycle the Windex through it soaks up the sticky dried up ink and cleans things up. Don't use other cleaners--use Windex or water.

My scanner stopped working yesterday.

Did you have a storm or lightning? Try unplugging the power cable from the left rear of the machine (not the wall). I have had to do this on several occassions after storms. Good Luck!

In Use Memory is flashing and there is a clicking sound.

Yeah, I had the same problem and I had to pay $9.99 for the solution. :P I called Canon’s technical support for help even though I have an expired warrantee, so that’s why this little piece of information was so expensive. Oh well, at least I didn’t cry and I’m happy that it’s fixed. lol
So this is the problem, just like everyone keeps saying: THE USB CORD IS IN THE PHONE JACK AND THE FAX THINKS THAT THE PRINTER IS “ON HOOK.” The thing is, in the back of the printer you have a column of jacks, the one on top has an icon of a phone and the one on bottom has a picture of an “L” or laptop. TAKE YOUR USB CORD OUT OF EITHER ONE OF THOSE, NO MATTER WHICH ONE IT MAY BE. What you may not have figured out by now is that there is a THIRD jack that is not anywhere near those two. If you’re facing the front of the printer to the far right of the backside of the machine, there is this deep cavity that has your third, miracle jack in it. It’s even more to the right than the two jacks I described previously and its icon looks like a sideways, three-pronged cactus. Plug the square end of the USB cord into that jack, and the In Use/Memory light should stop blinking, and your printer can stop acting like car because the annoying, turn-signal clicking should stop as well. :)
You’re problem was probably the same as mine, when you moved your printer, you neglected to find your instructions manual (because you probably neglected to put that in a safe placed too lol) and you forgot which jack the USB cord went into.
Well, I hope my help was clear and that my $9.99 can go towards helping all those with this same problem and get use out of what seems like a waste of money. lol

Scanner not working ... is there a way to fix ? is it cost effective to repair older machine?

scanners/ printers costs are as low as $35.00 for a new one and if it is a wifi unit may be $100.00 to replace new with labor costs and parts ( if you can get them) I would consider junking it and get an updated new one

Repeated Fax TX report printing

Solution #3 solved it for me. The report kept printing over and over, so I used the menus (roughly) mentioned in Soluton #3 by guest.

My problem was the printer was trying to print the TX Error Report with the image attached. That made the report too big for standard sized paper, so the machine kept telling me to check the paper size, and I'd hit 'OK', and that made the machine try to print the report again, for it continued to think it had not printed a complete report.

Here's what I did...

Go to: Fax Menu
Arrow right ( >) to Maintenance/Settings, hit, 'OK'
Arrow right to (>) to Device Settings, hit 'OK',
Fax Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Settings, hit 'OK',
Arrow down ( v ) to TX Report, OK
Select 'Print error only', hit 'OK',
Attach TX image, Select 'NO', hit 'OK"

With the instruction to not attach the TX image, it will print out the error report without the TX image, the report will fit on the paper, and it will clear this problem.

Good luck!
