My CP510 printer is only printing half the image
My canon cp510 photo printer printed only half of the photo (only the left part if you look to printer whith papercartridge towards you) I repaired: Put cp510 upside down Open box by 4 little screws philips and three bigger. turn upside again and wathc out for little screwsGet off the plastic box, topside, and i found: (when you have the printer like "normal"i mean with entrance for paper cartridge towards yourselves )I find from left to right a metal axle of about 5 mm diameter. on right end i found a white plastic thing whcih puts down the printing head/ink foil casette. It was broken arond the axle, it was torn due to pressing so often., I suppose. Dutch official Canon repair shop said i could not get a spare one as they could not order spare parts, they expected. Anyway. i reparied it myself with super glue: To get iron axle free, in order to get broken plastic "pusher" off, I first unscrewed to bigger screws in the metal plate on left side and also the very litltle screw on front side (on/off switch. This all to give space to axle when i want to lift it up on right side.I got off also bottom plastic house, then you keep iron house , on right corner on front side the metal side is screwed to a metal bar with a very little phillips screw (1,8 mm screwdriver). It is very fixed, so you have to push very well on screwdriver, and i got screw free. then i pulled teh right wall on topside a bit so that i could just get out teh iron axle from that right side wall an lifted it up and pulled off plastic broken/teared part. With thin paper i cleaned the tear (from any fat/oil form machine) and put some superglue on it, put it back on axle and i had allready some little clamps ready to pressure on plastic part. Please note the axle is not round at the end, but there is a space to be able to push the plastic part down. So look well that you put plastic part on axle back in some position. Of course you can make photo's during repair in order not to forget how it was together.. The immediately. put presses or clamps on teh plastic for the necessary pressure (I used little, but strong clothes pins ). after a day of drying. i put togetehr machine an d it worked again. allraeady 10 photos upto now. hope it will work for several years agian !. note: afterwards, i read, i schould have used special super glue for plastics. Have success. Frank
