How do i fix my sound driver
go to device manager
then right click at sound device
click update driver, follow instruction after that, if ask cd drive use cd driver that come with your pc, wait till finish appear then click finish

Don't try loading windows with out fixing the NTLDR...Try this simple steps in recovery console,
- Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD drive, and then restart the computer.
- Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted.
- When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
- Press 1 (One) to select windows XP and then hit enter.
- When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
- At the command prompt, start typing
COPY D:\i386\ntldr C:\ (Considering that D is your CD Rom Drive) COPY D:\i386\ntdetect C:\ (a file that may also be missing)

usually you can pop the key out and reconnect the arms back together or there may be a metal spring looking thing. (please rate)
Won't boot 3 consecutive
If you have two sticks of ram, pull one out to see if it will boot, if it works you found the bad stick of ram. Replace the ram back if there is no change, do the same with the other. Hopefully this will solve your problem.
T42 and Windows 7 is not working with the latest
You should of performed the Windows 7 Advisor first to make sure your laptop can accept it. It will also advise you of the issues that need to be corrected before the installation of Windows 7.
