The refurb key that they supplied must have been a error, I suggest you contact them to get the correct information because you cannot bypass the product key number to get into windows.

You should replace the fan if it is defective. You can check inside your Bios or System Setup to see if there are any options on controlling the fan. If the laptop is not giving you any error messages or overheating the fan might be ok.

This indicates a hard drive problem, have it tested to confirm, because the hardware may need to be replaced. First try and reload windows with cd installation disc if that does not work the hard drive must be suspect.

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. It could just be stuck with the heatsink past underneath the assembly.It sits on top of the processor and they can stick quite tight.Try and ease/slide it left and right a few times rather than pull it straight off.A shorter one probably wont do the job as well as the larger one. The size of heatsink required to remove the heat correctly is caluclated during the design.
