There are 5 basic, but solvable reason for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%. If you have a Manual Control
Unit, set the humidity extraction knob to Maximum.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the

allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.

where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder

in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

My dehumidified says its full but it is actually

The actuator switch, which is commonly called the bucket safety removal switch, is not making good contact with the bucket. Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it. Remove the bucket from it's holder and check the inside of the top of the bucket for a float valve. The float valve's arm may be stuck in the UP position. In which case, jiggle the arm to get it to return to the DOWN position. If your model doesn't have a float valve, look inside the bucket holder for what will look like a trigger switch. This is what the bucket must make firm contact with. Reinstall the bucket making sure that it fits "squarely" into the holder from top to bottom. When installed properly, the bottom of the bucket will not be tilting down.\

Plug the unit back in and turn the unit ON. If any of the above was corrected, the unit should turn ON and function normally.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Dehumidifier is full-no water is coming out of the

Barbara, this happens quite frequently. It's due to a clog in the hose or the a clog in the hose connection tubing. If you unit has a float valve in the top of the bucket, be sure that it's not stuck in the UP position.

To resolve clogging problem, do the following:

1. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit. Disconnect the hose from the unit
and check for clogs and remove them if necessary.

2. If no clogs were found in the hose, the clog is in the hose connection tubing. Use and 18"
long, plastic ZIP Tie, appropriately sized to fit in the hose connector tubing. Carefully insert the
Zip Tie or something similar (NO Wire coat hangers, though) into the hole and continue to push
it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work it past this bend, until
the ZIP Tie either bottoms out or you run out of usable ZIP Tie. Then while rotating (Twisting) the
ZIP Tie slowly pull it out. As you reach the inserted end of the ZIP Tie, be prepared for some
water to follow.

That should solve the problem. Be sure the hose is no longer than 5 feet and that it slopes downward from the unit, with no kinks in it.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Please let me know, Thanks.

My dehumidifier will not turn on. No lights.

Dehumidifiers have a float switch in the collector whichturns unit off to prevent overfill. Check it out and make sure it moves freely. Many dehumidifiers have a safety device which senses when the reservoir isfull. The tank either presses against a switch, or there may be a sensorconnected to the tank that triggers a switch when the tank is full. This is toprevent any water damage to your property. Always remember water andelectricity does not mix well. Empty the tank. This should solve the problem ifthe tank was full. If you empty it, and the unit still doesn't run, look aroundthe tank to see if there's a switch or other device that controls thedehumidifier. Look for a bucket switch. You may be able to throw a switch by hand. If all the above is ok then thecontrol board has most likely failed and unfortunately the manufacturer hasdiscontinued the production of parts for this unit. The board is no longeravailable.

Running constantly and not filling up. It has

The problem you're experiencing, with your dehumidifier is usually caused by 4 basic things. That can be fairly easy to solved:

1. Air intake filter is either dirty or clogged: Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it before removing the filter.
Be sure the filter is completely dry, before reinstalling it.

2. Refrigerant cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. This will require removing the face of
the unit, to access the coils. They should be cleaned with warm water and dish washing liquid.
Then rinsed and thoroughly dried. After they are dry apply a light coat of WD40 to the coils.

3. Air obstruction. The unit requires a minimum of 12" clear air space on all four sides of the unit.

4. If the unit is being operated in a basement, the air temperature at floor level is colder then the air
temperature at floor level. Unless, your unit is a "Low Temp" model, getting the unit up off the
floor, on to a sturdy table, cabinet top, etc, that is sturdy enough to handle the weight of the unit,
plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve the problem.

Also, you may want to try this in home test after compelting the above::

Place the unit in your bathroom, plug it in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set the humidity extraction level at 32-35%. Turn the shower ON hot enough to generate steam. Make sure any window(s) are closed and DO NOT turn the bathroom's exhaust fan ON. As you exit the bathroom, close the door and do not return for 15 - 20 minutes. Once the time has elapsed open the bathroom door and turn the shower OFF. Wait 5 minutes and check the water collection bucket for any signs of water. If you find any, the unit is working as it should. If not, and you completed the 8 things listed above, the humidity sensor (also called a Humid-a-stat) may have failed or the Compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

It goes on and off

If the water collection bucket is not installed properly, the vibration of the unit during operation, will cause the bucket to lose contact with the safety trigger switch and the unit shuts OFF. Remove the bucket and look up into the cavity to see the switch. This will give you and indication of how the bucket must make contact with the switch. When you reinstall the bucket, be sure that it is squarely in the opening (top to bottom) and the bucket's bottom is not tilted down. However, when this occurs the Bucket Full light usually turns ON. If you're not getting that, it's not a problem with the safety trigger switch.

So, the other thing to check is the water extraction level, you have the unit set on. It may very well be set to high. Lower it to 32 - 25 %. The ON/OF scenario can be caused by an improper humidity extraction level setting.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

The humidifier does not collect

Hi,the lack of water in the bucket, may be a result of the humidity setting on the unit being to high. Try setting the level at 45% or lower. Also, be sure there's adequate air flow around the unit itself. It should remain a minimum of 12' from a wall or furniture. 24" is better.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, try this at home test. Place the unit in the bathroom, turn it ON and set the level as low as possible. Turn the shower ON hot enough to generate steam. Do not turn ON the bathroom's exhaust fan. As you exit the bathroom, close the door. Wait 15 to 20 minutes, before returning to the bathroom. When you do, turn the shower OFF and allow the unit to run for several more minutes. Then check the bucket for water. If there is any sign of water in it, it's working fine. It was probably a case of the humidity level being set to high the first time.

If there was no water in the bucket, the refrigerant gas in the cooling coils and the compressor may need recharging.

Hope this helped your to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

My guess is something got into the controls and has shorted the power to the fan. Take panels off of the unit and vacuum, and wipe or brush, with soft brush, as much as you can. Do not use any liquids in cleaning. Hope this works for you.

Dehumid. runs and fan blows but no water in tank

Several things can cause this problem. The leading one, is that the humidity extraction level is set to high. Lower it to 35%. One of the others, is a dirty or clogged air intake filter. Followed by obstructed air flow. You need to maintain at least a minimum of 12" clear air space around the unit. Also, most humidifiers struggle to operate correctly, if the ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 to 60 degrees F. This will also cause the fan to run a lot if the unit is set in continuous mode, rather than a timed mode. And finally, if any doors or windows are open, the unit will run forever. Make sure all doors and windows are closed.

Here's an in home test to see if it's working properly. Move the dehumidifier to the bathroom. Plug it in turn it ON and set the humidity/moisture extraction level to 35%. Turn the shower ON hot enough to generate steam. Do Not turn the bathroom exhaust fan ON and close any windows that may be open. As you exit the bathroom, close the door. Wait 15 to 20 minutes before returning to the bathroom. Once you do, turn the shower OFF and allow the unit to run for 5 minutes more. Then check the bucket for any signs of water. If you find some, the unit is working as it should.

If you don't see any signs of water, the unit's compressor may need to be recharged with refrigerant.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

My dehumidifer collect water but

This may be caused by running the unit in continuous mode, rather than timed mode. The heat is generally is generated when the defrost mode cycles on, to defrost the cooling coils. This happens more frequently, if the air space around the unit is obstructed or it's operating in a temperature range of 40 to 60 F. Cleaning the air intake filter at least once a week, can help solve this problem, too.

Maintain a minimum of 12" free air space around all sides of the dehumidifier. Use a timed mode rather than a continuous mode. Make sure the room is within the proper operating temperature range and clean the air intake filter weekly.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Our dehumidifier is not taking

If the machine's compressor runs when you switch it on, then turn the machine on maximum and let it run for an hour or so. Then check the coils in the back with your hand. If they are not getting cold at all, then there is a significant problem with the refrigeration process in the unit. It may have developed a leak and allowed your refrigerant gas to escape, or there may be another internal problem with the compressor. Either way you would need to have it serviced by a fridge technician, or more likely just replaced with a whole new unit since both options can potentially cost about the same.

If the unit runs normally and the coils are getting cold, then make sure they are not totally icing up which will impede the unit's performance. Also make sure that the room is warm enough. A dehumidifier will not work properly if the ambient air temperature is too low. Basically, the warmer and more humid the room is, the better they work. Add heat to the room if necessary to improve the unit's performance.

My dehumidifier turns off immediately

By "auto shut off", I assume it's not showing the bucket full light? If that's the case, it's probably one of two things. The bucket is not installed properly and is not triggering the safety trigger. In which case, reinstall the bucket, making sure it triggers the switch.

The other is that you may have the humidity level on the dehumidifier set to high. Remember, what- ever level (percentage) you set it on, that's the level the humidifier will maintain, Not remove. With that in mind, set the level at it's lowest setting. If you have an LCD screen it will probably be 45%. If it's a case of High or Minimum, set it on Minimum.

You also mentioned that "the filter is not very dirty", but you should clean that anyway. It's better to stay ahead on the cleaning, than having to play catchup on the cleaning.

Hope this helps you to solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

With this model is there

Yes, there is a way to do it. As a matter of fact, your model (now discontinued) came with a short section of hose. However, you can still use a short 5' section of garden hose and achieve the same results. To find the hose connection (if you don't have your Owners Manual) remove the bucket and you should see what looks like a hose connection (which it is) behind where the bucket sits in the unit. If it is not there, inspect the back of the humidifier for a small 2"x 2" pop-out compartment door. Inside of that is the hose connection. Remember, dehumidifiers do not have pumps to pump the water out, they rely on gravity for water to flow through and out of the hose.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks
