Electronic panel has a "3 second" button that is flashing. We tried turning off power but it still flashes when powered up. The dishwasher will not start. None of the other buttons will work.
Pard, does your serial number end with either WS or WU? If so, Maytag had a issue with the main board, triac shorting and possibley damaging the motor windings. If your serial numbers fall under this, you are probably covered under the service flash. Im not really sure what you mean by the 3 second button flashing. Check the numbers first and post back. Hi, Our dishwasher worked fine until today. I tried to use it and there is no power to the control panel. I push Auto Clean, and nothing happens, no lights turn on when I press any of the push pad. We had a power outage yesterday, however this is not the first one that we've had. I checked the breaker and it is fine. Any idesa? Thanks
Try turning the curcuit breaker off for a few minutes. Turn it back on and see if it resets itself. If not, the outage may have shorted out the main control panel.

A few of the prongs that hold the dishes on the upper rack of my Maytag have rusted to the point of falling off. The rack is still usable and the dishwasher is about 7 years old, but runs fine. I am concerned about the rust that remains exposed where the prongs rusted off, both because of the dishes that continue to be washed in the dishwasher and the further damage to the rack that is likely to result from exposure where rust remains. Is there a product that can be painted on or applied to cover the rusted area that is safe to use insisde the dishwasher where the dishes are washed. Can I repair the rusted rack?
Clearly a design or manufacturing flaw. I have the same model and the rack is disintegrating after 6 years. I believe it is a manufacturing flaw. Our previous dishwasher rack lasted over 20 years in the same conditions. Same construction, vinyl covered steel. New upper and lower racks cost over 200.00 and there is no guarantee that this won't happen every six years. I recommend a new non-Maytag dishwasher as soon as you can. Meanwhile, limp along with the defective racks.

My model MDB7100AWW had a door switch problem (palmetto bug got inside). I removed the bug and got it working for two weeks. It died again, so I figured the switch was misaligned fom my previous work. Got it to turn on, but now I'm getting two flashing lights: Heavy Wash, and Clean. Removed power for a few hours, but it didn't help.
I have the same problem with the lights flashing on the control panel. It pops up every 4 or 5 months. The only solution I have found is to press the delay/resume button one time then press the drain/off button twice. You may have to hold the keys down for a couple of seconds. This seems to reset something in the panel. Make sure you haven't pressed the 3 second lock button or it won't work.

I have a maytag dishwasher model number mdb4651awb. Less then 1 year old. About 2 weeks ago it just stopped working out of the blue. Loaded it and pushed start but no power. Then today I was walking through the kitchen and there were lights lit and flashing on the control panel. I pushed cancel and all lights went off. Tried to push start but nothing happened. About two minutes later there were more lights flashing. I pushed cancel but nothing happened. Then a moment later all lights went off. They haven't been back on. Can't use the dishwasher. What could be the problem?
Had the same problem, removed the kick panel to find a set of instructions under the insulation, had to push a sequence of the panel buttons, its been running great for a couple of weeks now!

The handle on my dishwasher is broken. When you push it, it stays up and it is VERY hard to open the dishwasher. Is it possible for this to be fixed by the homeowner?

Water is sometimes squirting out of the lower right hand corner of the door or slowly dripping.
the door seal has gone better change the door surround seal also. check for case damage and obstructions aswell.

Maytag dishwasher model MDB7100AWB has power to dishwasher but nothing works (as if there was no power). Is there a fuse in the dishwasher somewhere? If not, what is the most likely cuase? Thanks.

No thier is no fuse so what the most likely problem will be a defectice door switch switch so even though the door is closed the switch thinks its open and will not allow the dishwasher to start.

all of the panel lights are flashing all together at the same time repeatedly... tried cutting power to it with no result
I had the same problem today - they replaced my telephone pole yesterday and had the power shut off for a couple hours. All light blinked when door closed. I reset by pressing the "drain/off" button for 15 seconds.(found info. on another site) Seems to be ok now

The "Clean" & "Heated Dry" lights are flashing on my parents' Maytag MDB7100AWB dishwasher. Heated Dry is in position 7 on the keypad. I am trying to help them troubleshoot what this means from across the country. My parents are elderly and I do not want to ask them to try and take off the kick plate to get to the Tech Sheet, and have not been able to find either the Tech Sheet or a code glossary online. Any assistance with info on this light sequence would be greatly appreciated.
