Hello,

This dishwasher has a auxiliary drain motor on the right hand side. This motor often will get clogged with debris. Pull the unit out and check the drain motor for debris. The pump has three small screws that hold it in place.

I just had my Maytag dishwasher serviced. It was getting less and less efficient over time. The items on the top rack weren't even getting clean. The repairman showed me the problem: the water was not spraying very well at all.

There's a round water filter at the bottom, underneath the spray arm. It's a hard plastic mesh ring, maybe eight inches across and four inches high. This ring was completely covered in garbage. Gunk, pieces of cellophane, you name it. No way water could get through it. I was amazed to see how clogged it was.

He took out the ring, scrubbed in clean, and put it back. The water now sprays like there's no tomorrow. Practically like new.

I would reset the breaker to be sure it is not tripped. If the unit is not hard wired then you should check the power is plugged in or test the outlet to make sure there is power. Is everything checks out, then I would suspect it is the door switch on the unit. You can try to open and close the door a few times and if it starts, you may need to replace the switch.

The 2 on a Maytag Dishwasher usually means it's set for a 2 hour delay. Turn the power off to the Dishwasher for 5 minutes or so, then turn power back on. This will reset the unit.

I hope this is what you were alluding to in your question.

Clean the arm outlet jets at the trailing end of the arms are not blocked with food particles and other solid matter. This often happens and the arm is unable to turn because the water jet that is supposed to drive the arm does not have the force to rotate it.

Remove the bottom strainers plates and make sure that there is nothing obstructing the outlet pipe and the pump. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again.

Hi White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine.Hope this helps... I had no lights on my control panel, eventhough power was good.
I replaced the control panel ($265 part), it worked for 2 weeks, then I now have the same problem.
Frustrated, I am probably going to buy new from a different manufacturer.
Whirlpool/maytag does not warranty electronic parts if you do it yourself.

The most likely causes are the you are using a tablet in a gel coating but putting the tablets into the dispenser drawer when the dispencer drawer is damp, thus causing the tablet to stick inside the housing; or, if the dispenser drawer is releasing the tablet into the bottom of the cabinet then I would say you have a problem with your water heater. In which case you would need an enginner to come and replace the heater.

There is no overflow. If it is over filling and running out the door, your float switch is bad. If there is water leaking out underneath, you have a leak.

1. Be sure that you don't have something large blocking the dispenser door like a cutting board.
2. Make sure the water temp is 125 degrees going into the dishwasher. Cold water won't break down detergent correctly.
3. Make sure your getting water pressure: Run your dishwasher on normal. Wait until the cycle starts and the spray arms are spraying. Turn a cup right side up to catch water on the top rack if you run the dishwasher and wait 20 sec that cup should be half or full. If you don't have water in the cup you could have poor water pressure from your pump. This could indicate 1. Worn motor 2. Clogged pump
