Maytag model w10199645 was starting intermittently, and sometimes only when we pressed and held the start button for 10-15 seconds. Finally tonight it just wouldn't start, period. I unplugged it for 15 minutes, then used the Heated Dry/Normal/Heated Dry/Normal and it started back up on its own.

You may have to disassemble the door to get to the inside of it and check the screws that hold the hinge tabs.

I would suggest that you remove the dispenser and ensure there is no crud built up on the edges. That would cause the water to splash all over the place and spill.

Is latch adjustable to make door tighter?

Just inside the dishwasher usually on the bottom right in the front is a mushroom shaped "float" lift it up and down a few times making sure it ends up in the down position. if you move it slowly you should hear some clicks. do that and try to run the dishwasher if that does not fix the issue then your going to have to get a meter and see if you have 120v to the fill valve when you start the dishwasher. if you have the 120v then replace the fill valve

Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again. Could be the dishwasher is in the Sales Floor Demo Mode. It will depend on the model as to how to fix it...
