Dishes are not clean, soap is not dissolving,

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check the Water temperature by using a thermometer inside the dishwasher to measure the water temp. It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible. Now try using the temperature boost feature if your dishwasher is equipped with this cycle feature and check if this will help your wash ability issues.

Now check the Powder soap by making sure that you store your soap in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.

To check the proper filling dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.

For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump.

Low water fills are a very common trouble maker with today's dishwasher.

Please do rate this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Very noisy wash cycle

most times i have found a foriegn object in the pump. sometimes the machine will clear it itself but other times you have to take the pump apart. it is not too difficult but you will need a size T15 and T20 Torx aka (star) bit to get it apart. Just keep taking out screws until the filter flowplate lifts off.

Maytag MDB3700AWE bottom wash arm does not move Freely by hand

Yes, the wash arm should spin freely. Recommend that you remove the arms and search for what is stopping it.
In addition to hard water, the ultra-cheap dishwasher powder really does/can leave calcium-like deposits behind. Use brand name powder for 30 days and you will see a difference. Never use gel or tablets in any dishwasher.
Adding a whole-house water softener would eliminate 90 % of your problem. The other 10% will be taken care of by not buying ultra generic powder.

My Maytag model mdb9600aws motor

You are wise to realize the leak would destroy the motor.

Take a close look at the diagram to see everything that gets placed on the motor shaft. That should give you a good idea what can/must be removed from that shaft.

http://www.partselect.com/ModelFrames.aspx?ModelID=122613&ModelNum=MDB9600AWS&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=1&Selected=54093&Position=2&mfg=Maytag&Type=Appliance&Mark=2

Ask more questions once you have gotten the items off the shaft. OK?

The glasses and cups have specks in them that

Maybe try rinse aid like jet dry, some people forget to keep the rinse aid filled up or the rinse aid nozzle gets a encrustation build up from the rinse aid.
Also check your water for hardness, you may need to use a water softener to remove hardness, filter alone will not remove hard water.
One way to test for hard water is with a test tube or something like it and add 2 drops of washing up liquid, and shake the water and soap and see if you have a lot of bubbles or if the bubbles disappear quickly, if there is a lack of bubbles you probably have hard water and may need the mentioned water softener.

Cycle going all the way but very small amount of water

Most likely, the problem is your water inlet valve. Before you go get a new one, check to make sure that the cutoff valve (probably under the sink- it is at the beginning of the water line that goes to the dishwasher) is all the way open. Sometimes it gets bumped by trashcans, or boxes of detergent, or whatever, and can inadvertently be partially closed.

The inlet valve is usually located at the front of the dishwasher, behind the plate at the bottom. Make sure you turn off the power at the breaker, and cut off the water (under the sink). The water lines (in and out) need to be disconnected, and the wires carefully unplugged (its best to use pliers to keep from yanking the cords out of the plugs).
You might just have calcium deposits all over the screen inside the valve. You can clean it with a mix of limescale remover and water. Or it may just be "broke", in which case you need to order a new one. If you have an appliance parts store in town, they will probably have it in stock.

Led wont light up. no power to dishwasher

Measure for 115 volts AC at the junction box behind the front lower panel where the incoming power connects to the washer wiring. If ok, you will need a wiring diagram of the washer to go further.

Handle is broken.. how to replace?

This is not a difficult repair. If the model number you have this listed under is correct, all you should have to do is follow these steps:

1. Turn off the power breaker, or unplug the dishwasher.

2. Open the dishwasher door and locate the screws around the perimeter of the inner door panel. These are torx, size T-2, I believe. Remove the screws directly behind the control panel and only loosen the remaining ones. This will enable you to remove only the control panel without having to remove the entire front panel facing.

3. If only the handle is broken, all you have to do is remove the the screws holding the latch assembly in place and lift out of the way. The door handle should lift out from the rear and a new one can easily be inserted.

4. If the latch assembly is broken, I would recommend replacing the small switches that plug into the latch assembly as well. They typically break when attempting to unplug the wires from the terminals, because they are so fragile.

Appliancepartspros.com has all the parts you need, along with some excellent exploded view diagrams you can use for reference. The parts that I am talking about are items 3, 4, and 5 under the "Control Panel" heading.

Item 3 is the Door Handle
Item 4 is the Door Switch
Item 5 is the Latch Assembly

Here are some more sites you may also try for cost comparison:

If you have questions about this repair, or if the model number is not correct, please post back with your complete model number so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance. I hope you find this information helpful.

Dishes on the top rack not cleaning properly

Had similar problem with our Maytag dishwasher--we removed all spray and screen components to the inner case, cleaned the intake screen below the lower spray arm, repaired a split upper spray arm, and inspected everything for cracks or other distortion. All of this helped some, but finally improved things by changing from liquid detergent to a "packet" type. Our water is somewhat hard and builds deposits on the screen at the bottom. Run a no-dish cycle with a cup of white vinegar in the bottom.

The dishwasher will not turn on

Congratulations - you found the fault !

The options you have are -
Buy areplacement board from a spares centre.
Buy a take- off board from a scrap one on Ebay.
Or - Learn about electronic repair - and identify the burnt component , buy the parts and replace it yourself.

You can take it to an electronic repair shop - if you can find one - or a electronic supply shop - and ask for a new one of "them".

If replacing a burnt component - often there is a cause other than just that component.
Experience tells you what else might be wrong to cause it.
