Sound problem

The message that the installation failed means the drivers did NOT install properly. Uninstall the driver FIRST before trying the installation again. Failure to remove all the sound drivers will insure a failed installation.

An external storage-device has four major components:

* the USB cable

* the power-adapter

* the disk-drive inside the enclosure

* the USB-to-disk-drive adapter inside the enclosure.

One of these components has failed.

Try a different USB cable.

Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer.

Try connecting to a USB port on a different computer.

Take a "multi-meter" and measure both the voltage and amperage output from the AC adapter, and compare with the specifications on the label on the adapter.

Open the enclosure, and remove the disk-drive, and then connect it as a "slave" disk-drive in a desktop computer, to see if it works at all.

Purchase a new, compatible, disk-drive, and install it in the enclosure, to "revive" your external storage device.

Get the part-number and serial-number from the label on your disk-drive, and access the manufacturer's web-site, and use "check warranty status", to see if they will replace the device, at minimal cost to you.

There exist commercial "data recovery" services that can try to repair your device, just long-enough to rescue and copy your files. For example, see: https://services.seagate.com/index.aspx?lng=en-US for a "no data - no charge" guarantee.

Lacie 1tb external hard drive

As a precaution, backup your data to another machine, in case the external drive is developing problems which would get worse and essentially "lose" your data. Does it do this on other machines other than yours? If so, it is developing problems, which, as said, could be deadly to data. If it doesn't foul up on other machines, then something is afoul with something on your machine. Various problems are reported with sleep mode wakeup. Could you disable the sleep mode function? You might see if there is an O/S update for your Mac which addresses this problem (waking up the USB ports & connected devices).

Hard drive not mounting

If you still have the files on your pc and just use the drive as a backup, then there is nothing lost yet, and no need to recover, just return to retailer. But if there is any sign of life, check; Right Click My Computer>Properties>Device Manager>Hardware,see if your Drive is in the list, if not, on top right there is an icon for scan for new hardware. See if your PC can find your drive, if not return it.

Lacie 250GB external HD (Error Code - 1309),

For systems prior to OS X; error -1309 fileBoundsErr: file's EOF offset mark or size is too big If your disk is formated as HFS rather than HFS+, you can get this error. For OS X; Error 1309 is a file bounds error. In other words there is some discrepancy with the file's size or end-of-file marker, or some variation on this. This sounds like a read error not a write one i.e the problem lies with the original file. Now, you may ask, "How do I make it HFS+?"... You would have to reformat the drive to change the formatting to HFS+ (Extended). Backup anything you can't replace on that disk, then use Disk Utility in your Utility folder to reformat the disk. Use Extended formating option.

I hve problem wit my acer laptop

Hi, The beeping denotes a hardware problem within the laptop. Depending on the beeping sequence, it may refer to video, memory, battery condition and others. A simple quick try fix would be to check the memory. invert the laptop, remove one of the panel cover and you will see a memory stck clipped to its slot. Try wiggling it, remove and re-insert, clean the tips and reseat. Hopefully this should do the trick. If it does not, you might be better off seeking the servies of a qualified professional since this involves opening the unit and doing hardware fault diagnosis. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things went or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
