They threw away the box with the instructions and we are now being told it's batteries are low and we can't get the thing to open anywhere to find the batteries. Help!
Hello,
I had a similar problem with my battery going dead in my Logitech mouse. There was a "aa" battery located under the rear top cover. it's the part that has the Logitech logo on it. You simply press the button underneath the mouse @ the back that has a LOCK symbol on it & lift off the cover. Put in a new battery & you should be good to go.

After changing the battery, the mouse will not work even though I know the battery is new. I tried hitting reset but it's still not working. The computer is recognizing the usb receiver but the mouse just isn't working!
just see the bottom side of the receiver. you will fin a hole. clean the hole by blowing in the air. if this didnt work lust open the receiver(be careful not to break it, use plastic card or credit card on the side to open the hooks) and put 2 drops of white petrol on that part and leave it for one minute, then wipe it with cotton.
cheers...
i was also having the same problem but solved it with the help of logitech tchnical department...

Trying to reset my cordless Logitech mouse. Changed the batteries...didn't help. Held the red reset button on mouse and "connect" button on the receiver for 20 secs and still nothing. Any other suggestions?
you should hold the reset button on the receiver for 5 seconds. let it go and immediately press the reset button on the mouse once. If done in this order it should be ok.

hi i have the item above and have used it for a few years
on various imacs/ibooks, gone to use it with my ibook today and it has suddenly stopped(if you go into system preferences, the ibook sees
the USB adaptor-and lists it correctly and there are fresh batteries
in the mouse but still no joy) any ideas before i throw it away?
Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver burron and then press the button on the mouse. This should be fdone when ever you change batteries or glitch. Hope this helps you. Bud

my wireless mouse is not working. i thought it was broken, so i bought a new one and it is still not working. what could the poblem be?
This is sort of general but it just may
help.
Make sure your batteries are in
correctly.
Make sure the transmitter dongle is in
the USB.
Look on the transmitter and the mouse
and keyboard
itself (bottom) for a little tiny
button that says connect
or reconnect. Move the mouse about six
inches away from
the transmitter and press both the
transmitter and the mouse.
That should reestablish the signal
twixt the two.(or three KB)

how do I change the battery in my logitech M205 wireless mouse?
Just lift upwards the Logitech logo below the clickers of the mice. No more screws to remove or knife to be used, just took off the battery and replace it. Double AA. ^__^

my Logitech M505 mouse quit working, moved to another usb port and it worked agaon for a bit then quit working there as well, only 2 months with it. tried changing the battery and tried using on a different notebook - seems dead. Green light on top lights, and laser below glimmers, then green light dims as normal & laser blinks out. The computer then reports usb device malfunctioned & is not recognized. Is my mouse dead?
Yes. Get another mouse on eBay.
