Hello
Just open the remote control without damaging its case. In some remote controls, there may ba onw or two fixing scrrews inside the battery compartment. Look ofr it if it is there, if not you can open it with any sharp instrument like a knife or so, by put it in betweedn the **** between the to case parts at its side. Hold it upside down and open. There will be a strip wire that connects the LCD display and the main board of the remote control. In some remote controls this strip wire will be a replaceable one. In some others it will be pressed either side to board and display. If the second said type is yours, it can't be repaired. If it of the first said type, the wire can be replacable, and can be bought from electronic spare part shops. Its conductors are of carbob track type, not made up of metal wire. During the fall, there is a chance to make these conductors to break. There is only back light LED is working now. Sometimes the remote may be also working, but you can't see its doings on diplay. Check it. As you said that the battery inside it is deformed durring the fall, as from that I understands that the hit got by the remote control during the fall was strong. Anyway open it and check these. OK
The USB port on the remote has fallen into the
The Ebay service is quite reasonable, but I give you fair warning. Many times when a USB port has become loose, it has done so due to some violent action. If this is the case, then it may not be a simple fix of re-soldering the port. If the solder pads have been ripped off the logic board, then this becomes a much bigger job and the Ebay service will not attempt a repair on the board itself. So, before you set yourself up for dissapointment, you should try to take a look inside to see if there is damage to the board. To open the remote remove the two screws. Then, near the bottom of the remote, on either side, stick your thumbnail between the two clamshell halves of the remote and wiggle it in until you open up a little space. Then, pointing your thumb down at about 45 degrees, slide your hand up the side of the remote. This will pop the small tabs that hold the remote together. Do the same on the other side and you will be able to separate the top and bottom clamshell halfs. Then, just pull out the red LED protective lens in the front. You should be able to recover the USB port and inspect the 5 small solder pads (thin silver-colored "fingers" on the logic board that the pins of the port were soldered to). If they all appear intact, you can attempt to repair yourself or contact the Ebay repairer as suggested. If any of the solder pads are missing, then the damage to the board is much more serious and, although it can be repaired, no one is going to do it for small change. You would probably be better off just buying a new logic board from an Ebay re-seller. They cost about $27.

Did the behavior of your remote change or have you just started using the remote? If this is an initital setup, ensure that you have selected the correct model numbers and that your setup configuration is correct in the Logitech software. Many problems have been resolved by going back to the software configuration and making sure that all of the devices and mappings are correct. Assuming the programming is correct and things were working properly at one time and no longer are then you need to determine if the issue is a physical problem with the button activation (key presses are not making contact), or a software problem (corrupted programming). So here are some things to look for:
When you press a key, do you see the 'transmit wave' icon appear at the top of the LCD screen? If so, then the remote is registering the key press. This means that the physical operation of the button is ok, so in this case, your issue is probably firmware/software related. You should update the remote's firmware and then re-load your settings. Both of these procedures are done using the Logitech software. If, after doing a refresh of your firmware/software, there is still a problem, you can try mapping some of the hard keys to 'soft' keys on the LCD screen. So, instead of using the "Guide" button, you have a "Guide" option on the screen. The link below will explain the process for re-mapping button functions.

Hi,
Safe Mode is a diagnostic tool in the Remote
used for troubleshooting purposes. If the words "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode
Requested" appear on the remote, complete the following steps:
1. Ensure
the Remote is in "Safe Mode Requested" by taking out the batteries, and
disconnecting the remote from the USB cable.
2. Hold down the Off button and
plug the remote into the USB.
3. Continue holding down the Off button for
another 10 seconds. The remote should then display the words "Safe Mode
Requested".
4. With the unit in "Safe Mode Requested", re-install the
firmware by clicking Support on your home page.
5. Click Firmware in the
Downloads section and follow the online instructions to upgrade the
firmware.
6. Once the firmware upgrade is complete, click Update My
Remote.
7. Insert new batteries into the remote.
NOTE: Ensure the new
batteries are all the same brand.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

On the remote, press "Devices" and then select the TV. There should be a command on the LCD screen that is called somethine like Zoom, TVZoom, or a ratio such as 5:10 (the numbers could be anything). If not, test all of the commands. One of them will fix it.
