The heating element in my bottom oven caught fire...literally, there were flames. I immediately turned off the oven, and teh fire died down.
funny same thing just happened to me and it all seams to be the bottom element of the same ovens around the same year, I bought mine in 99 also, I keep my oven very clean becasue i know the dangers it may cause, I think this is a major problem and it needs to be addressed.

Lately when using our Maytag Gemini top or bottom oven(s) it will intermittently interrupt the cooking cycle and start beeping with an F 1-2 code. This interrupts the operations of the oven and occurs either when warming up or when it is first turned off. It takes several cancels to make it finally stop and then it may work fine for several cooking periods before happening again. (Last night I had to cut to power off to make it stop.) Any ideas what is wrong? Everything else seems to be fine.
The oven temp sensor has gone bad. F1-2 would be for the lower oven and F1-1 would mean the upper oven. If you give me the model # from the sticker on the oven I can direct you to a diagram, part #, and price. These are very easy to replace. Should be located inside the oven in the upper right or left hand side. It looks like a silver rod about 4-8 inches long and crimped on the end. Most of them can be removed from inside the oven by removing the two screws, pull out the sensor (harness and all) plug in the new sensor, put the screws back in and your done. Some have to be removed from the back of the oven by removing the lower, larger back panel and follow the same process as mentioned above. Hope this helps.

My hot surface indicator light stays on and won't go off. I have tried powering down the range as well as heating it up and cooling it off. Any ideas?
The component that controls the hot surface light is part of the element. If there is a light for each element you just replace that element. If there's one for the whole surface or each side you'll have to figure out which element is causing the problem.

My Maytag Gemini electric range has drips and streaks between the glass door panels which I can't clean. It looks terrible. What can I do to clean them? The top oven looks worse than the bottom oven, but the bottom has streaks, too. Also, how do I remove black marks from the ceramic cook top?
We had an ugly spill of hot grease/water from a roast, and lots of it ran right into the vent holes on our oven door, covering various layers of glass and other parts inside the door. Yuck. Thankfully we found this site!
"fixetheoven" was certainly on the right track, but missed a key step that makes this job much, much easier. (Maybe they had a few too many sips of wine during the process?! :-)
Anyway, the key to make the job easy, and do-able by one person, is to pull the door off the hinges before starting to remove any screws! Here's how we did it:
1. Open the door about four inches or so, it will stay in place. Hold the door at the sides and lift it up, sliding it right off of the hinges! Now lay it carefully face up on a table so you have easy access to the screws, and no danger of the glass dropping out of the bottom of the door (as apparently happened to "fixedtheoven".)
2. Remove the two screws that hold the panel on one side of the door. (One screw is halfway up the side panel, the other is on the bottom edge of the door.)
3. Slide the panel off, paying close attention to how it fits into place so you can return it to its original position later!
4. Remove the two screws that hold the panel on the other side of the door, and slide that panel out as well.
5. Remove the three screws that hold the panel across the bottom edge of the door, and remove that panel.
6. Now you can slide the front glass out from under the top edge of the door.
7. Clean the front glass, the side panels, and the bottom panel, as needed.
8. There will be another layer of glass inside the door. If it needs cleaning on the underside, remove the screws from one of the metal brackets that hold the glass in place. You can then slide this piece of glass out from the metal bracket at the other side.
9. After cleaning everything, reassemble the door by reversing the above steps.
10. Lift the door by the sides and carefully slide it back into place on the hinges. Be sure it is properly in place and being held there before you let go!!
11. Now go pour that glass of wine and sip to your heart's content, while admiring how clean your oven door is!

How do I set the clock on a Maytag gas range, I have tried every combination and am getting nowhere?
If your range is the same model as you posted this question under, the time is set by pressing the "CLOCK" button. The word "TIME" will begin to flash on the display. Using the keypad, press the corresponding numbers of the current time.
NOTE: If the oven has been programmed, or is in use, you cannot change the time. Cancel all other functions before attempting to set the clock.
If the model number is not correct, please post back with your correct information so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance.

The Power to our Maytag Gemini Range was turned off, via our Circuit Breaker box, so the technician could replace parts. After the technician replaced the parts the Power to our Maytag Gemini was turned on, via our Circuit Breaker box.
Thereafter when we turned on one of the Maytag Gemini Surface Elelemts the message "Power Interruption" was displayed.
What is the message "Power Interruption" actually indicating?
Our Service Technician is from Conn's where we have a Serice Contract, and I'm puzzled as to why the Conn's Service Technician doesn't understand the message "Power Interruption.
So, please advise, we've been without the service of Maytag Gemini for 1 week, awaiting the Parts for our Mytag Gemini to be delivered to Conn's, and now to have the Conn's Technician not being able to adequately service our Maytag Gemini, well.. it makes for a very, very Bad Experience.

I have a Maytag Gemini range and the bottom oven is off by 25 degrees. When I set it for 350 it only gets up to 325 actual temp even though the digital display says 350. Is there an adjustment or do I have to change the sensor/control?
Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
OVEN TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT
If you think the oven is operating too cold or hot, you can adjust it. Bake several test items and then adjust the temperature set- ting not more than 10° F at a time.
To Adjust: 1. PresstheBAKEpad(upperorlower
oven) and enter 550° F.
2. PressandholdtheBAKEpad(upperor lower oven) for several seconds until TEMP ADJ is displayed.
3. PresstheAUTOSETpad-eachpress changesthetemperatureby5°F. The control will accept changes from -35° to +35° F.
4. Iftheovenwaspreviouslyadjusted, the change will be displayed. For example, if the oven temperature was reduced by 15° F, the display will show -15° F.
5. When you have made the adjustment, press the CANCEL pad and the time of day will reappear in the display. The oven will now bake at the adjusted temperature.
I tried to help you. Please help me and Rate/Vote on my response, thanks and good luck
