Hi jjscottsb,

The F3 fault code shows a Shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD). To fix this problem please check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. If wiring is ok, you need to replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Hope it helps.

My stove was constantly beeping and flashing F9-3

Hi

F9-3 is a door lock error and to solve this issue you can hold the light switch for 15 seconds, this will reset the control. If it won't work then hold the light switch in and set the unit to clean and after a minute press cancel to cancel the clean cycle. If still it won't work then the door lock assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

3. PresstheAUTOSETpadtochangethe

4. PressCANCELpadtosetthe displayed

The LOCK is option 4 change the OPTION from 4 to 9.
9 is the factory default settings.

This should work. However.... there is the possibility that the unit had performed a self clean function. If you just completed a self clean cycle it can but up to 1 hour AFTER the cycle before you can open the door or use the oven as the range must cool down and cycle a thermostat before it wil work again.

There is also the possibility that the door lock has not completely retracted. If you can get it to start a self clean cycle.... after 1 minute press cancel and the lock should retract. (I know you said won't do anything) I am hoping that after you reset the options from 4 to 9 that you might be able to do this.

I was baking at 350degrees.

Hello,

The F9-3 error code means that either of the two oven self clean latches is stuck so ya need to check and see in both ovens if their is something from obstructing the lacth

if you also get a F9-4 that would mean its just the lower oven

a F9-5 would be just the upper oven

but for the F9-3 it could be either oven

Received an error code F1-2.

Hello,

The F1:2 error code means that the LOWER OVEN tempature was way to high..this is usually caused by a defective oven temp.sensor.
The LOWER OVEN sensor would need to be checked,to check the sensor isolate it from the wiring and check for between 1060-1100 ohms of resistiance at room temp. if it's not pretty close to that range either way +/- the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced.
By pushing clear/off button it should clear the code and you should be able to use the small upper oven.

this is what the sensor looks likeoldtech2332_75.jpg

What does F9-6 mean on

The F9 is door latch component mulfuction. You need to check the latch two most posible parts are the motor or micro switch and a smal chance one part that have brocken. If you are not so experience to identify where exactly is the problem and be able to fix it the esyest solution is to replace the latch. We have here the parts diagrams of your range where you can fint the latch assemebly. part no 12.

The top oven only heats

Hi

This means a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Cleaned the oven today. top

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
Start another clean cycle and only let it run for a couple of minutes then press cancel and see if will unlock. If the UPPER latch is ok it should unlock. If this does not work.... the next step is to check continuity of the latch switch and motor. If only one has continuity with the latch locked then there is a problem with the latch. If they both read out fine... the next step is to check wiring from the control board to the latch assembly. If there are no wiring problems the last step is to replace the control board. I hate to even mention the control board but... it is the fix of last resort after the latch has been replaced and the wiring has been verified as intact with no shorts or opens.

Latch: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch.aspx?pn_=AP4095528

Control board: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch.aspx?pn_=AP4434688 (GASP@!)

Do not try and do multiple clean cycles back to back and then press cancel. Just try starting the self cl;ean cycle once.... wait 30 minute and try it again if it does not unlatch the first time. After that your going to be in the troubleshooting mode if you still have the problem.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

On my Maytag Gemini MER6772

If there is no visible clips or tabs to hold the plate in position, the best way to reattach the disc would be to stick it in place using a silicone adhesive. Make sure that the plate is clean and free of grease etc, as also the back plate of the stove. Apply the adhesive to the plate, fit in place and hold it there with masking tape or similar for about 24 hours until the the adhesive sets.
