Hi the fact that you smell gas near the floor suggests you do indeed have a gas leak, propane is heavier than air to will fall to the floor. you really need to get the gas company to check

I couldn't figure out the butter knife trick, but I want to thank you for motivating me. Purchasing new hinges worked 2 years ago, but these simply wear away much too quickly (the little depressions that hold the angle wear away). I tried pulling them open with strong string pulled tight using a tourniquet (this worked with one). Then, I wedged a small piece of shingle behind the offensive thing (like a peg in a lobster claw). If I have to do this again I would start with the wedge, you have to make sure to construct it thin enough to follow the hinge into the final socket. Once the hinge was resting properly I was able to pull it out. Be careful here, the hinges are powerful.

Then the gas is not burning correctly, the problem can be any number of things, but please have it checked right away, CO is a killer, and you just pass out never to wake up, happened to a friend.

I know you probably have the problem fixed by now, but I had the same problem with my frigidaire range just the other day. Loud popping sound, range/clock controls do not work. Stovetop still works great.

I took the back off the stove and got to the circuit board. Unplug the connector and the five spade connector wires. Once you do that, remove the 4 screws holding the entire assembly in place. The circuit board(s) are held in the housing with retaining clips on the housing. Use a small screwdriver or similar to pull back on each clip to pry each side of the board out. Once the board(s) are free, look in between the two circuit boards and you will see the problem. The larger, 20 amp relay is the culprit. It blew traces off of both boards making it almost impossible to repair. Without having a schematic to go by, I went ahead and decided to just replace w/ new boards as opposed to trying to solder the traces. I have not checked on prices, but brief web searches didn't return any results. The board part # is SF5301-S7509-N

Sound like the igniter is not reaching the correct amp draw, so it is not opening the gas valve all the way. Watch this video on troubleshooting a gas oven. www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html

Well it seems that the control panel of your oven is dead.

1) Touch panel is not repairable and has to be replaced
2) There is suppose to be tech sheet inside the control panel.

oven and broiler wont work

hi bberg thats your ignitor.its right at the brink of failing.so because of its weakness it lets some gas in then gives up and then will try again.its located under the oven pan and a failing one will have a soft glow,new one a brite glow.you can buy one one line or at your local appliance store.about 50$.please help me with my rating if i have been helpful.God bless ypur house,tom

bake and broil feature not even responding to touch???? its one component " the electronic range control" clock assy. after trying to unplug and possible resetting the control. i would say youll need to replace the control unit.

You said, your broiler and oven won't work. That you set bake and it beeps and the bake light flashes but oven wont light.

Does the display flash any error codes, or just the bake light?



Fault codes
1. BAKE or LOCK may flash rapidly in the display to alert you if there is an error
or a problem. If BAKE or LOCK appear in the display, press the CANCEL pad.
2.If BAKE or LOCK continue to flash, disconnect power to the appliance.
3.Wait a few minutes, and then reconnect power. If the flashing still continues,
disconnect power to the appliance and call an authorized servicer.
4.If the oven is heavily soiled, excessive flareups may result in a fault code during
cleaning. Press the CANCEL pad and allow the oven to cool completely, wipe out
excess soil, then reset

For most concerns, try these first.
Check if oven controls have been properly set.
Check to be sure plug is securely inserted into receptacle.
Check or re-set circuit breaker. Check or replace fuse.
Check power supply

I'll check the repair manual to see what I can find.

most common cause of gas range, oven not heating is a result of a faulty oven ignitor, you would need to verify power(110volts) to ignitor, located under iven floor attached to the bake burner. simple enough job for the homeowner to replace probalby about 50-75 for part
