How do I set the

To change this, do the following:

1) Navigate to the Control Panel by clicking Start and then Control Panel. Then double click on Power Options as shown below circled in red.

2) This will then display the Power Options window as shown below.

3) Once you have opened the Power Option Properties, under Power Schemes select the one that best suits your PC system.

4) Then you can select whether or not to switch off your monitor and/or hard drives after a period of time when it is not being used.

The resolution notifier keeps popping up (NEC

It probably is warning you that your video graphics adapator is puting out a non-native resolution to the monitor.

LCD monitors are designed for a specific resolution. If you don't use that resolution, the LCD has to try to mimick the resolution you've asked for.

Check your display settings and also consider updating your graphic driver if a new version is available.

WHEN I CONNECT TO THE INTERNET I GET A BOX IN THE MIDDLE OF SCREE

The recommended entry resolution is 1024X768... do you have your computer set to 800X600 or below ?

This is usually why you get this message.

go to control panel/display and check this.

NEC 1940 CX Monitor

Here's the user's manual: http://www.necdisplay.com/cms/documents/UserManuals/17401940CX_053106.pdf Basically, according to the manual, you have to go into your menu and turn off the resolution notifier.

Some monitors do no come with built in speakers and a sound system much be purchased to have sound from pc.
