I am trying to change the voicemail message on the norstar, but when I put in the feature code it reads 'inactive feature'. All the web sites I have checked give the same feature code. Any suggestions for an alternative? Thank you!
This generally happens from one of two things. Your voice mail system is connected to your phone system through a station port. If it loses connection it will not communicate with the phone system. Loose wire or connection can cause this. or it has just crashed and will need repair or replacement.
First thing you want to do is unplug the unit wait 15 minutes and plug it back in. wait 10 minutes Try feature 981 from a set that has voicemail. if nothing. hit feature 985 from a m7310 set or a m7324 set not a m7208. If it comes back with inactive fearture now your connection between the units is bad or the unit itself is bad. If it comes back with the voicemail intercom # and you cant get into any mailboxes it has lost all programming.Try this first.

I am new to this office, the previous person who used to use this phone have just left without leaving anything. I need help please....
My telephone is Nortel T7316E
I have to reset all the password
My telephone that has three (3) softkeys under the LCD Window Display.
I try to reset the mailbox password
1. I hit the FEATURE 985 (display shows "VM:751" OK)
2. I press Feature 983, display will shows "log:" then "QUIT RETRY OK" underneath the "log:"
3. I enter 1020000 (3digit extention)
4. press OK
5. "Pswrd:"
"RETRY OK" shows in the display
6. there is no "SELECT" at all
could someone help me please.....
I dont dont know the mailbox password,
log password, and admin password. im so confused and desperate here.
please help
How to Change a Mailbox Password
1. To access the voice mail system press Feature.
2. Press 9 8 3.
3. When you see Log: enter ~ SETNNA (738662) and press OK
4. Pswd: CONFIG (266344)
5. Press "MBOX".
6. Press "CHNG".
7. Enter the mailbox number you wish to reset.
8. Press "Reset".
9. Press "Rls" to exit (orange button to the right of the number buttons).
Default password is "0000".

I am Trying to change the name on the phone that appears when it makes an internal call. Ihave a Nortel M7324 phone.
1. Press the Rls button then ** FEATURE 266344 (CONFIG)
2. Password is 23646 (ADMIN) The display reads Terminals & Sets
3. Press SHOW ans enter the Extension for which you want to enter a name.
4. Press SHOW, again
5. Press the NEXT key until the display reads NAMES at the top left corner.
6. The bottom right corner reads CHANGE, press the far right soft key.
7. To move from one letter to the next use the far right and far left soft keys or the # key.
8. When you are finished Press next.
9. Press the HEADING key to get back to TERMINALS & SETS and start again!
Navigation Keys: Line 1 = HEADING Speed Dial = SHOW
Line 2 = BACK Last No. = NEXT
This can only be done from the main handset and only one at a time. The Soft Keys are the three small buttons right bellow the screen.

BUT I GET A PASSWORD ERROR MESSAGE SO I NEED A RESET.
If your company extentions are 2 digits long enter "120000"
If your company extentions are 2 digits long enter "1020000"
If your company extentions are 2 digits long enter "10020000"

Here are the instructions for making a conference call on a Norstar system.
Conference [Feature] [3]
1. Make or answer the first call.
2. Put the first call on hold.
3. Make or answer the second call.
4. After the second call is connected, press [Feature] [3].
5. Press the line or intercom button of the first held call.
6. Press [Rls] to end the conference call

is there a way to access the call history (call display)?
if the call log program was turned on in the system, you should be able to get into it by entering feature 812(call log). you can program a call log key by pressing feature*3 pressing the button you want to program call log on and entering feature 812.

I forgot my system coordinator mailbox # and password!? I have other other extentions set up with employees that are not able to access thier voicemail messages and need to update their greetings how can I help them as well?! ps. I already tried "To reset the administrator pasword enter feature 985 press 9, at the password prompt enter 73738767793 (resetsmpwsd) and press ok or #,press yes to reset password. password should be defaulted to 0000. then try Feature 983. if your system has 2 digit intercom #s your password is 120000. " but it didn't work!!!
You can keep it at the default password. It will allow you to do everything except remote recording of the main greeting with a default PW.

Hi we have a Norstar M7324 and i am trying to change the number of rings on the night service. Its now 2 but i need it changed to 5 befor going to voicemail.
Auto Attendant
Answer Lines
1 – Feature 983
2 – Log: Dial 1020000 (3-digit DNs) or 120000 (2-digit DNs)
3 – Press AA
4 – Press LINES
5 – Line number: Dial line number (001-xxx).
6 – Line:xxx Ans:No Press CHNG to AA if auto attendant will always answer theline. If a Night Service key will be used to activate auto attendant answering, leave Ans: at No.
7 – If line has been changed to Ans:AA, press * then press TABLE.
8 – If Table:1 is OK press RINGS. (Table 1 is the default greeting table. Change to a different table (1-4) if alternate answering is required on the line being programmed.)
9 – Rings:0 – Press CHNG, dial number of rings before auto attendant answers the line, or leave at 0 for immediate answering. Allow at least 2 rings if CLID is in use.
10 – Repeat for each line to be programmed.
Notes For Night Service Mode Auto Attendant Answering
If the auto attendant will only answer lines in night service mode, line answering should be set to No as per step 6 above. Using night service will cause the AA to answer lines immediately.

Meridian M7324, Mailbox locked, feature 983 not available, #120000 is invalid. Help
Feature 983 defult password is 120000 for 2digit locals and 1020000 for three digit locals and 10020000 for four digit local > Don't use # key
