Why does it show exit when I press Feature 981 for a norstar voicemail?

it may be waiting for you to enter either the user/password or password. I believe exit will be an option available all the time when you are in this feature.

I want to delete an existing greeting message on the autoattendant. How do I do that?

Okay, it sounds like you're using a standard auto attendant greeting setup. Try this: Feature 983 Password: 1020000 (or whatever you have recorded for the password) Select AA Select Greeting Select Greeting again Enter 1 (for Greeting 1) You can hit Play to ensure that you are listening to the correct greeting. If not, select another greeting by enter the number 2 for greeting. Once you have found the greeting that you would like to erase, simply press record and let it record one or two seconds of silence. The greeting will be gone. Press OK to accept the new greeting (silence) and exit the system.

How do i record the intial greeting for the aa with a star talk flash

Feature 983 with a password of 1020000 this is for 3 digit extensions numbers add or delete 0 between 1 & 2 according to extension length and the last 4 digits is the voice mail password. Choose option AA, then Greeting twice, enter 1 for greeting number most likely day and 2 for night. Also check greetings 3 & 4. Check the soft keys and you will be able to REC - Play - and OK. When finished press the RLS button. Hopefully this is helpful.

Nortel startalk one of my extensions keeps getting calls and when answered there is just a busy signal on the other end. What is causing this?

If answering live call and is busy signal on the other end then could be a recording from far end....call a tech in.If voice mail message is busy signal it could be same as above or Disconnect Supervsision is not programmed on the lines and with the carrier.....this detects when caller hangs up then system knows to hang up, if does not hangup then you get busy signal.

To set the time on the startalk 180: enter feature 984
the display should say log:
enter 1020000 and press ok
display should say <date>
press next if ok or chng if not
display should say enter hhmm:
enter time in 12 hour format
display should say retry am pm

When we press feature 981 the message reads

That means that the voicemail system is no longer recognized by the phone system. Check the lights on the voicemail to see if its still receiving power.If so try unplugging and plugging the voicemail to reboot it. The voicemail can take up to 6 minutes to totally reboot.

To enter viocemail administration, press Feature 983. if your system has 2 digit intercom #s your default password is 120000 if your system has 3 digit intercom #s your default password is 1020000. Once you have entered the password you will see 3 selections you can make .Use the three soft keys under the display and select AA (auto Attendant). Next, press greeting and greeting again. Next, it'll ask for the greeting number your probably working with greeting 1. Press record to start and ok when finished. dont forget to save the greeting or it will be deleted if you exit early. hang up when finished

the startalk takes does not store the time, it takes the time and date from the phone system. to change the time on the phone system try feature **TIME (8463) password CONFIG (266344) from a phone with the 3 soft buttons under the display it does depend on the model and software level as to whether this will work and also presuming nobody has changed the default password
