Samsung SyncMaster 793DF 17" CRT Monitor Questions & Answers
What is "flyback" on tv monitor
the "flyback" is the VERY high voltage transformer that powers the CRT through a cable that plugs into the CRT inside the monitor case. Don't try unplugging, even with power off, as it has to be discharged to ground to remove risidual voltage, like a capasitor. This voltage is about 35,000 vdc.

What is "flyback" in a tv monitor
A
flyback transformer (FBT), also called a
line output transformer (LOPT), is a special type of electrical
transformer. It was initially designed to generate high voltage sawtooth signals at a relatively high frequency. In modern applications it is used extensively in
switched-mode power supplies for both low (3V) and high voltage (over 10 kV) supplies.
this is use only on monitor the old one that used CRT TUBE.

On and off switch problem
Hello,
Would suggest you get a new one, since monitor are not that expensive, note that the monitor has a large capacitor which stores charge in high voltage,it will not be good for somebody without the required skills to open this monitor. It can lead to serious injury, better still if you cannot buy a new one, please give it to a technician to do it for you.
Regards

The display has turned yellow.
Possibilities:
* bad connection of video-cable to monitor
* bad connection of video-cable to computer
* bad video-cable
* bad monitor -- connect to a different computer to see if it works, or displays the same symptom
* bad video-card -- connect a different monitor to see if the symptoms persist
It's probably time to responsibly-recycle that CRT, and spend $100 to buy a new 19-inch LCD monitor.

My screen is turning black sometimes halfway
Hello,
The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it turns
black atimes, it means the
picture
board of your monitor has developed fault.
The best thing for you
to
do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center
to help with the replacement of the picture board
because the fault is not something you can fix yourself. in order not to
complicate issues.
Take care.
