Samsung TX-R3080WH 30" TV Questions & Answers
TV turns off after a few seconds
it could be the bulb on the way out, they don't like to turn on if the inverter does not get a voltage use from the bulb, while trying to turn on the tv look at the vents for the bulb if you see it flicker on and of while trying to turn on the tv when it would be the bulb. when the tv is on and work hold a peace of paper over the vent not to cover it but to look at the bulb light if you see a flicker or bright and dim and repeats doing this then the bulb is warn out. if you hear clicking or scratching sounds this could be the inverter board on it way out.

When i turn the T.V on it turns right back off
The capacitors on the power board have most likely blown
Simply re solder new caps in place of the ones that have buldged on top
If you have soldering iron and skills you can do it yourself
The parts will only cost you about £2
a TV shop will charge you £80

SAMSUNG TXS3082WHX/XAA Won't Turn On
All of these tv's are board replacement only the individual parts are not available. The boards can cost anywhere form $200 - $400 each. Even if you do it yourself it is still an expense, if you get the blink code i can point you to the correct board. These sets have different boards even within the same model range. One of the first diagnostics is does the back light come on, if not then you either have a balancer error or a bad bulb in the panel. Why i suggest this is because it is the most common problem. If it is the bulb in the panel you have to replace the whole panel, the bulbs are not available as an individual part.

Turn it on, no picture for a while. Then picture
G'Day!
Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair
issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting.
There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're
under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under
warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor.
However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

I bought my Samsung TX R3080WH, 30 inch tv in Sept
Sounds like the capacitors in your power supply had burnt out causing to high of a voltage which can cause a threat to other system boards and components. You will need to have your power supply tested firstly.
