3d looking or colors skewed?

I had a similar issue with mine from the factory. There was a grey/black shadow in the upper left. Called for repair. The guy took off the circular access panel on the left back side and there was a fingerprint on the projection lense. He cleaned it and it disappeared. Sounds the same. Maybe touched the lense replacing the color wheel?

The connecting traces/wires that lead to the bulb are likely the culprit. Check visually for any blackened areas or dark brown-ish areas, or if any wires are touching and whatnot.

I have the exact problem with my Samsung HLR5678W. I called Samsung and they don't even know what it is. Anyone find anything out?

Hi,It sounds like your DMD chip is going bad.This is how the dmd works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the dmd is composed of 2 million pixels that create the image ,when you start getting symbols or pixilation that will be the dmd chip that is going bad.Good luck and God bless you!

You probably have a bad Light Tunnel. Samsung has a Tech bulliten and recall for this defect and might pay for the repair. Call 1-800-SAMSUNG and ask for the ECR Group and explain the symptom. If they resists to pay for repair mention the recall.
