Samsung DLP will not turn on
If your having the "3 light" problem it could be an indication of a bad lamp however if there is a buzzing or a grinding sound it could be one of two moving parts. The color wheel or the cooling fan. I would go the cheaper route and replace the color wheel first. The thing is the lamp will not turn on if there is a problem with one of the other two parts. TRUST me ... I've replaced all three parts just to find out it was only the cooling fan. (at least I have another lamp handy when the new one goes out). The motor on the cooling fan is too small for such a big fan so I would definately try it first. It's a big problem with the DLP tvs. Hope this helps.

Picture freezes and no sound or sound and pictures normal
Okay, only one thing you could check, and that would be your electrical outlet.Using another outlet from a different room(power extension cord) to plug your TV and see if it does the same thing.
If it does, don't bother, you need a repair serviceman to take care of it or if it is under warranty, call your retailer!

PICTURE GREEN
If it happened to all your video/audio components, you should have a repair tech, to take care of it.
There are at least 3-4 different issues which in my opinion it is not worth your money and time.

How hard is it to change a color wheel
No, it is one of the three parts that can be changed by the consumer. My husband changed out ours but the TV still doesn't work. Now it has been suggested that we try a new ballast, we have already put in a new lamp as well.

This shadow is called by the light tunnel in your optical engine. You can have someone come out and try to fix the light engine. I am an authorized samsung tech and about 80 percent of the time I can rebuild the light tunnel. If the tech can not fix the light tunnel you would have to have the optical engine replaced. The light tunnel is something you would not want to attempt yourself. At least you can explain to a shop what your problem is..if they have not heard of this call a diffrent shop.

This is a problem we are seeing quite a few. The problem is, you have a defective Lite-Tunnel. This can be repaired two ways. (1) The Cheap way. Replacing the Lite-Tunnel. This is somewhat complicated. You must take the engine apart to change the tunnel. After changing the Lite-tunnel it must be aligned. (2) The expensive way. Changing the complete Lite engine. This is less complicated, but cost a lot more. Lite engine Part Number BP96-00822J . Average cost $1300

Samsung rear projection TV, is changing channels by itself and turning on and off by itself
Hi Lochness,
My best guess is some moisture has gotten around the controls and is shorting out the buttons making it change channels and Turn on and off by itself.
You need to get some contact cleaner and a can of Air spray. Gain access to the circuit behind the controls, carefully of course, power turned off. Clean the buttons, and the circuit board thoroughly. This should put you in business. Please do not run keep the Television plugges in until you do this as further damage could occur.
I have had this happen to almost every television that I had. Eventually enough dust and lint will collect, then somehow someway moisture gets into the dust, lint, and circuits. Just grit your jaw muscle and dive in.
