Tv have a power supply board problems.That the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Take the tv aparts and check the tv power supply board carefully for dying and leaking components parts that are calling capacitors parts these capacitors parts are most likely bugles ups or puffing up onto it tops and leaking.These capacitors parts are dying and leaking that why it give the tv power supply board low power and long time to power up the tv.Have all the tools and know basic electronic also can do basic soldering work?Yes,than changes all these dying and leakages bulges ups capacitors components parts with the same Miro Fared and thoes voltages on the capaictors parts like 5 or 10 volts higher than those capacitors parts was in the power supply board u are replacing,these 5 or 10 volts higher rating will help these newly replace capacitors parts withstand heat better and last longer and the operation on the tv power supply board.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish tv power suply board for the replacement.

The problem is 4 capacitors on the power supply board. Just had mine done under warranty. They (Sears) replaced the whole power board but you can get larger capacitors and just replace those for alot cheaper if not under warranty.

2- this unit has an issue with 4 capsitors on the power supply which sit side by side and are about 10 volt each replace them with standard 16v caps.

I just fixed this very same problem. The capacitors are the problem. However, I think that if you have some minimal skills with soldering, you can fix this yourself. You just need to take out the system board, then the power supply parts are on the top right. The bad capacitor(s) will be bulging at the top and possibly have some brown stuff coming out. The ones that go bad are 1000microfarad, 10V, however you can replace them with higher voltage. I got 35V caps from radio shack for 1.59 each. You just need to solder out the bad ones and then put the new ones in and solder. Remember that the negative end goes on the side with the bold black part of the circle on the system board. Then just cut off the extra ends of the capacitors. If you are capable of doing this yourself, you will spend at most 6 dollars instead of however much a technician costs.

Moat likely it is because your power supply is defective and it is not producing tv sufficient voltage to power the backlight. I would replace the power supply.

Sounds like either the buttons on the side of the tv or the function board is not working.

To all who are having power supply issues: Samsung is now acknowledging a problem with the faulty capacitors. I called 1 800 726-7864 and they said they would repair certain out-of-warranty TVs if the problem is related to the capacitors. I just called and they are sending a service rep out to diagnose the problem

Clicking noise and tv does not start. Most of the times it is the power supply board which is found defective. But I have found Main board also responsible for this problem. Please consult some qualified technician.

Mother board burnt means you have to replace it. But before you must see that the other board are ok.

Hi Metthew, Most probably the TCON board in your tv is defective. Please consult some qualified service technician. Most of the time the company service centers ask you to replace the entire LCD panel, which is an expensive affair. TCON board is a small part of the panel. and its job is to distribute the picture information across the LCD screen. Good luck.
