Possible that there is loss of sync from the signal and so it is unstable on both the viewfinder and the LCD display. This can be a fault on the main board- processing section. It can also be related to weak passive components or development of moisture. Leave the camera ON for few hours , place it on a warm surface - near to a table lamp and see if the fault changes. If so you need to keep using the camera often to keep the circuits active.

This is more of a problem with charger than Battery, check if power pack gets warm after 30 min or so, if cold it is not going.

Hello, The errors you are getting are "reel" errors. One or both of the tape reels are not turning during tape movement and the camera is shutting down to protect itself and your tape. In this model this problem is usually caused by the take up reel shaft being bent due to improper insertion of the cassette although this may not be the case. Please inspect both the takeup and supply tape reels and insure they are in correct alignment, if not, a gentle push to one side or the other will place them back in operating position. SOUNDS LIKE YOU BLEW A INTERNAL FUSE TO THE MAIN BOARD. IT IS VERY COSTLY AND IS HARD TO DO.. SORRY YOU MUST GET A ANOTHER ONE. YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK FOR A CANON ?

I don't know if this will help at all but I have had to push the adapter into the camera further than my initial try before it would start charging. Check to see if you can push it in any further.

Make sure that all of the pins in the S Video cable are not bent. I've seen that cause the video not to work.

Does it still do the same thing if you were to use a standard video connection to your video player?

i think it has an inbuilt memory but the files from the camcorder is transferable through data cable.
