Samsung Yepp YP-F1Z MP3 Player - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Loading
Hello This is Bill MacLean
[email protected]. See my earlier post on same problem of dead yp-f and also my reply to member wanting to replace battery. As you can see I had tried pretty well everything when I stumbled on a solution that worked for mine. Follow my directions in other post to remove Battery. Reassemble without
battery and hook up to usb/miniplug to computer.Unit is now powered only by computer usp and the battery is not interfering with
computer now recoginizing the unit. Reformat and reload the O/S
that came with the unit or download the firmware upgrader from Samsung. When you have access transfer some songs and unhook from compuer (remeber o use usb tray icon to stop unit as I think this is what crashed mine) Dissamble unit and replace battery and turn on. E-mail me if this works for yours of if it was a one time fluke with mine.
Regards
Bill MacLean

The record voice is stuck on and I can't get it to switch back to the mp3 songs.
Actually there are 5 buttons (6 counting the reset inside) and the
ROCKER button for volume also is a MENU button (M) if you hold in for several seconds rather than rocking up down for volume. WIth menu up you can switch from fm radio , music , voice , navigate or setup functions. These are all in the book but
Samsung is never to clear in translating their instructions to english.

How to remove the battery
Have to completlydissaemble unit. Not hard but fiddley and tiny parts. Remove top custom color plate with fingernail. remove 2
phillips screws and set aside on nonslip surface (tissue). slide top plate with view screen away form usb connector 1/16 inch to unclip and lift off. Slide Metal belt clip left or towards usb port side (carful not to scratch ld viewscreen. and set aside. Remove 2 philips screws holding circut board and lcd (Set aside seperat from other screws as shorter and must go back samme place.
Fingernail out whit clip over usb port and set aside. Lift entire circutboard/lcd unit on left side (usb port) up and slde out that end so as not to catch volume control . Carful of battery leads.
(CAREFUL OF ROCKER SWITCH INSERTS ON EACH SIDE NOTE HOW SEATED AS THEY TEND TO FALL OUT BUT EASY TO REPOSITION IF YOU LOOK BEFOR THEY DO)
Raise far enough to get fingernails on battery terminal clip ON BOTTOM OF CIRCUT BOARD and pull straight off. ( note polarity as clip will fit back on either way but only 1 works and reverse polarity may damage unit. Wafer battery will pull right out of case and haspolarity +/- marked with numbers (assume model or part number)

Samsung yp-u5 4gb connection
Use a toothpick to clean out the lint in the usb connector. If you use the mp3 player a lot without the cap lint will build up and cause misalignment when plugging it in the pc.
My Computer wont recognize my Samsung YP-P3
this could be a driver problem
click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll through all of your devices
if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver
if you can see your usb device but its not working scroll to Ports(Com&Ltd) right click to update driver
if you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on itor you might have to download them http://download.cnet.com/samsung-yp-300/3000-18493_4-69368.htmlhope it helps
