Siemens SpeedStream 4200 (13A4200001) Bridge - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Is it possible..
Two things:
1) Is your phone bill paid?
2) Have you installed filters on the phone line and data line?
3) as you said, check for anything sticky on the speedstream itself, something might have been spilled, or even water for that matter.

Trying to get online with Linux
I use knoppix v3.3 (linux) to test a hardware part (1cd only, not the latest, but the fastest) boot from cd.
http://www.knoppix.org/
Test your system with that first.
Thats just a half part of the problem, but after that you have only 50% left. (I am not a linux expert, but I can use that CD easy)

Setting up a static IP
Hi kellysdad,
Setting up static IP is what we called manually IP or not generated by DHCP. Maybe you where putting the same IP between your bridge and your network TCP/IP properties.
Try to removed your network devices from hardware control panel and installed it again..
Hope this will be helpful to you.
Best Regards,
Philip

Speedstream modem 4200
put the modem in bridge mode and then connect a DSL/cable router to it...you'll have to configure the PPOE if its DSL...
Cable is a little easier because there usually is a MAC authientication not username and password...plug dsl/cable router into cable modem...turn both off for about aminute then turn modem on first then router...
Be careful most routers with wireless have it enable with no security by default...turn it off or set securty (wirelss that is)
