I have to turn the modem off and back on every
If it is wired through the LAN ethernet connection directly to your computer it is cause by unplugging the ethernet. Routers and modems hate a ethernet cable unplugged and will stop communicating if unplugged. You will have to reset almost every time. When reset the router goes out and looks at what is connected and then handshakes with it. If it is a wireless issue you can reset your wireless setting in your control panel. This shouldnt happen as your wireless network should always be broadcasting. Generally, to connect back to a router you only need to unplug the router to re-establish the connection to the modem. Going all wireless is the only way to fix this

Modem and router together not working. Did though.
Believe it or not the average router lives about 6-18 months before it start it downward spiral. Any router over 2 years old needs to be replaced or you will just keep messing with it until you finally go get the new router out of frustration.... OH, dont buy any "G" series routers. They will be antiques in a short time. "N" series is what you want. In addition make sure any new modem you buy is DOCSIS 3.0 or better. Walmart sell a couple of modems but they will not be compatible with the higher speeds coming soon. No, firmware cannot be updated to 3.0 as it is a hardware and software thing for 3.0. Be well

Dns error will not connect to the internet
unplug for 10 seconds and plug power cord back in. This will remove the static build-up charge and the system will work fine again for a while when you will eventually have to do it again. They all do this because there is no ground plug on the outlet plugins

For that you have to reset password first.
Press reset button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router.
Then connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link.

Works with xp computer but cannot get my new vista
Turn the modem off.
Turn the modem on.
Try: IPCONFIG /RENEW
to get an IP-address.
Does your Internet Service Provider require you to "register" each computer that you connect to the modem? Obviously, the new computer has a different Ethernet adapter than the old computer.
Thus, the ISP may be allowing _only_ the old Ethernet adapter to be used -- until you contact your ISP.

Siemens 4100 modem
You may have a bad power supply.
You would be better off picking up a small APC or UPS and have all your computer devices running thru.
It is common that after a power interruption the modem must reset to regain it lost signal

How can use this modem for Lan
You need to share the modem out over your LAN to other PC's/Laptops. Once shared out the others should be able to see the modem and connect using it via your LAN.
If this has helped then please rate me!

My itunes looks messed up like it has a virus
A: There are currently no recorded viruses for the Macintosh operating system.
However it still has some minute dependencies which are easily messed up. To resolve iTunes only go to
User>Library>Preferences Then look for com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist And com.apple.iTunes.plist
Then throw them in the trash then restart iTunes. this should clear some things up.
Secondly if you are unfamiliar with Terminal there is a great application called Onyx that helps you system stay fresh and best of all it is free! Here is the address
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11582
I hope this information was helpful and take it from me I am an Ethical or white hat hacker and I can assure you OS X has very little vulnerabilities to speak of so don't let anyone sell or tell you differently. Have a good day

Cannot connect although plugged in
Check the ipaddress. Type ipconfig in command prompt. Then ping a website in command prompt if u get proper ip address e.g 10.132.147.121. Try to ping
www.google.com in command prompt. If u are unable to connect. Tried to release renew Ip address.
Type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew in command prompt. If you are able to ping google and still unable to connect to website using internet explorer, then issue with browser or with OS.
