I have a new element hdtv and a magnavox dvd/vcr.

Greetings, Simple hookup would be connecting analog output from DVD/VCR player to your TV. To do this, use the Audio-Video cable which has 3 terminals at both the ends and each terminal has RED,YELLOW and WHITE pin. Your DVD/VCR player would have analog output socket where you would connect one end of these 3 pins, make sure yellow would go in "VIDEO Out, WHITE would go in "LEFT Audio Out" and RED would go in "RIGHT Audio Out", you can easily identify them cause these sockes would also have the colors on them. Now connect other end of the cables to TV, this would be input to your tv. On the back left hand side of the TV, you would see 3 sockes with YELOW, WHITE and RED colors. These are located between "Coaxial" and "S Video" labels. Connect yellow pin to yellow socket which is "Video In", connect RED pin to RED socket and White to white. Switch on the TV, play any dvd on your player. On your TV remote, press INPUT button which is located on the right hand side top corner on remote, press it and if you get the dvd player video and audio, you should repeat the button press to see the video, this button selectes one by one signals given to TV, so your dvd player input might be on the 2nd,3rd or 4th press, so go through till you get the video signals. Hope this helps !!! --Sandy.

Can not acess menu to HDD recordings?

I am not familiar with your model of recorder, but on all that I am, this has been due to a HDD fault. You might need to try and reformat the Disk, or replace the Disk.

My Toshiba DVR35 has sound only from both dvd/vcr

Hi.

If there is no Video , then check the cable connected to TV. If you are using RCA cables, the ones with red , white and yellow connectors, ensure that the yellow cable (the video) is connecting from an output on VCR into an Input on TV terminal board.

As said, test also using a different kind of cable connection.

Also use the input/source button on TV to ensure you have selected the right input.

Regards.

DVD disc tray will not open

Without knowing the model for the unit, it makes it a little difficult to troubleshoot, but usually the easiest way to get one of these to open up is to try resetting them. This is done on MOST DVD players by unplugging them for about 30 seconds while you hold the power button down to discharge any power that might be held in the unit, then plugging the unit back in and trying to eject it again. Keep in mind, that if the unit was moved (or even if something caused the unit to shift, like a person jumping near it) then the problem could be the dvd has become dislodged from the tray. Many dvd players will have a small hole on the front (usually below the tray) where if you insert a paper clip in about a half inch, will eject the tray part way, and then you can gently pull it out the rest of the way (making sure you do not keep pulling if you feel resistence as the dvd might have skipped out of the tray track). IF worse comes to worse and you don't have a warrenty on the unit, many dvd players can be opened by removing 1-2 screws from the left and right sides, and possibly 1-4 screws from the back of the unit (look around the edges, the screws near the ports on the back usually holds those ports in place and do not need to be removed to take the case off). Once the screws are removed you would pull back and up on the case to open the dvd player. Keep in mind, this voids a MFG warranty. Once the case is off you should be able to see the dvd and remove it unless you have a cheap dvd player which has an enclosed drive. Remove the dvd and with the case still off, plug the power in (DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING INSIDE WHILE THE POWER IS PLUGGED IN) and try hitting the eject button on the front. IF it ejects now, you should be good to go, just put the case back on. IF it doesn't eject, then your motor is probably bad (or something is blocking the track) and it is usually safer/easier at this point to just go buy a new dvd drive.

Toshiba 42RV500E sound issue

This is a known issue with this TV. The following might resolve it: Check Mute and Volume: Ensure that the TV is not muted and that the volume is set appropriately. Sometimes accidental button presses can lead to muted sound or low volume. Inspect External Speakers: If you're using external speakers, verify their connections. Loose cables or faulty speakers can cause sound issues. Test Different Inputs: Connect a non-HDMI device (such as a DVD player) to the TV. Observe if the sound distortion occurs. If it doesn't, the problem might be related to the HDMI signal from your Virgin box. HDMI Troubleshooting: If the issue persists with the DVD player over HDMI, consider the following: HDMI Cable: Check the HDMI cable for damage or loose connections. Virgin Signal: Contact Virgin to inspect the signal/lines and replace the box if necessary. Mainboard Replacement (if needed): If the sound distortion persists, it could be due to a faulty sound processor chip on the TV's mainboard. In this case, consider replacing the mainboard. Change batteries on my toshiba se-r0001 remote

  1. Locate the Battery Cover: Look for the battery cover on the back of the remote control. It is usually a small compartment that can be easily opened.
  2. Remove the Battery Cover: Depending on the design, there may be a latch, screw, or sliding mechanism to secure the battery cover. Use your fingers or a small screwdriver to open the compartment.
  3. Remove Old Batteries: Take out the old batteries from the battery compartment. Pay attention to the orientation of the batteries, so you know how to insert the new ones correctly.
  4. Check Battery Polarity: Take note of the positive (+) and negative (-) signs inside the battery compartment. Make sure to insert the new batteries with the correct polarity to match these markings.
  5. Insert New Batteries: Place the new batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring they are properly aligned with the correct polarity. Press them down gently to make sure they are secure.
  6. Replace Battery Cover: After inserting the new batteries, close the battery compartment cover securely. If it has a latch or screw, make sure it is fastened properly.
  7. Test the Remote: Point the remote at the device it controls (such as a Toshiba TV) and test whether it responds to your commands. If the remote is working correctly, you have successfully replaced the batteries.
  8. Dispose of Old Batteries: If the old batteries are no longer usable, make sure to dispose of them properly. Many communities have designated recycling locations for batteries.

I need a manual for my Toshiba 2010 tv serial # A10A13799C3300

Serial numbers don't work Judy https://www.google.com/search?q=A10A13799C3300 They are purely a numerical identifier of when it was made, year, day, number on the shift, whether it Joe or Billy who did final inspection. With a MODEL number I can find them easily with just 'make model manual'.
