Viewsonic Monitor problem, blinking LED light, no picture.

you guys......you don't have a software (driver, refresh rate, etc.) problem. When you first power up the monitor, do you get any display at all (ex, "analog input" or "No input signal")? Of course not - that's because you have a hardware problem with the monitor. Go here and watch the youtube video on how to take apart your monitor and find and replace the "domed" capacitors that have blown:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/247964-33-viewsonic-vx922-monitor-black-screen-green-power-light-flashes

Fortunately I only had 1 ($1.76 at Radio Shack). I replaced it in less than 30 minutes and my monitor showed "no input signal" upon powerup as expected because I wasn't connected to my pc which is full of all kinds of drivers and refresh settings, etc.

How do i open the case for vs12085

Remove the stand. The front bezel separates from the black rear cover. You will need a nylon tool to separate the pieces.

Blinking green led

The part is a capacitor, they go out because of the heat in the monitor. You can check out what they look like at our web site.
www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm
If it goes out again, you can fix it yourself.

Viewsonic va1912wb-3 has solid green LED but a black screen

Hello,This is a very common problem on this series on monitors. The problem is caused by filter capacitors in the power supply board that have failed. You can rebuild the board and the monitor will be as good as new. Here is a link to repair information for the VA1912wb monitors.http://www.ccl-la.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=90

My viewsonic 17

most likely the back light is burned out. Since you do not mention the model number it is hard to tell if this uses a incandescent or florescent bulb.

Dialog boxes keep popping up saying that

Hi,
If you haven't installed some kind of an update manager then these dialogue boxes are most likely due to adware or spyware on your system.
Try installing an anti-spyware utility an do a full system scan for spyware. There are many spyware utilities available on the internet for free. Do a google search to find a free spyware application.
Hope this is helpful.

Viewsonic VX922 19" - green

Since you hadd confirmed that the monitor is faulty with a swap then it seems that the input signal processor is faulty.
Only a signal test will confirm the fault in the stage , so check from the power supply section to see if the set has tripped off due to a protection- if so check the output drivers.

Hi I have a viewsonic

If the capacitors are polarised electrolytic type then they have a + and - leads. The - lead is marked on the capacitor with a stripe and a - sign. The circuit board where the capacitors are located will be marked with a - sign, make sure the capacitors are located correctly acording to the markings.
You need to put the capacitors with the correct values (capacitor) in the correct place on the circuit board.

If the capacitors are non polarised type the it does not matter which way they are inserted on the circuit board, but they have to be the correct value (capacitor).

Green power light flashes, screen goes black

Look for bad caps with domed top, worst case will be the lamp assembly, see my pictures here:
http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/VIEWSONIC/Viewsonic%20VX922/

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/ Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.
