Yes its true, normal batteries are dogshit in any digital camera, you need to buy Lithium Batteries, they're a bit more expensive but you'll get 6 to 7 hundred shots out of them babies. woooooooooooooooohhh!!!!!!! I'm curious....the camera came out in 2006....how did you buy a second one?...and more importantly, why? If something doesn't work, the first thing people do isn't to go out and buy another one. Anyway, from your description, the problem seems to lie with the cards, not the camera. All memory cards must be formatted (sometimes called "initialized") in the camera before use and regularly after downloading the pics to the computer. This erases the card and brings it back to original condition so download any pics you want to save using a separate cardreader if necessary and then, format/initialize them in the camera.Also, how old are these cards?....they don't last forever.

Most camera does have a specific SD card for it. I recommend to read the manual before putting a SD card not all camera can read memory card and buy the type and correct value of SD card some camera can take only 1 GB some 2GB or higher but some may only accept 512MB or lower. The higher the memory the the longer the capability of storing long videos but it all depend on the capability of your camera. Thanks hope this helps.....

Welcome to Fixya. "Write error" problem occurs when the data could not be recorded due to an error connection between the memory card and the camera. Also this error appears when the image that your trying to save is too large to fit in the available space in your memory card.You can try this steps to get rid of this error.

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Take off the memory card ad try to clean it with soft and dry cloth.
3. Re-insert memory card.
4. Turn on the camera again.

If you still have the same error, try to replace your memory card with a new one.
If the error still persist, you need to contact your Fujifilm service center.

I'd guess it's using the built-in memory ONLY, and ignoring your memory card... Make sure the card you're using is fully supported by your camera model and that it's not on Locked mode!
