Pull and twist gently to see if that will dislodge whatever is keeping the lens from retracting. You may have gotten some dirt or sand in the mechanism. It doesn't take much to prevent retraction. If it is dirty, a little gentle action will sometimes free it.

Hi, it sounds like you will have to get it repaired if its under warranty or otherwise.

This problem could have several sources. It could be a low battery status. Another cause could be that the lens is jammed, so it won't work (safety system). You should bring the camera to a repair centre if the battery is fully charged and this problem persists.

Sometimes the camera needs to be rebooted to work properly again (i.e. when it has been in sleep mode for a long time)

Do you have any filter or lens protection on? is there any plastic film like those that come with new phone to protect the glass? if so that could be the reason.
