I am from the Caribbean Island of St.Kitts and I was on holiday in London, England in August 2006 and I bought this camera. It worked wonderfully and I took plenty pictures. I had no problems at all with it until now. When the camera was turned on there was a sound coming from the lens area. The lens are open and will not close. On the screen there is the warning display "focus error." Can I get a solution to fixing this problem

After the basics (cleaning the lens, replacing the batteries, etc.), try dropping the camera on a carpeted area from about 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji A500 and 90% of the responders on the link. Everything on the web said it would cost ~$100 to fix. I was in the process of researching new cameras to buy and had nothing to lose by dropping it on the floor.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working. Dropping the camera loosens the debris and voila!

ok, i've tried all the suggestions listed here, and still nothing. i keep getting "usb not recognized" and when i click on the balloon, it suggests maybe the cord is useless. camera is brand new...help???
Are you able to set up the camera and cord on another computer as a test? It could be the computer failing- what other USB devices are installed- remove one or two. If you installed the camera software it would be helpful to un install it, and let windows do the work. Another simple answer is to invest in a card reader if all the above fails Getting hold of a cord as an item could be problematic.

camera finepix s5600 focus error

I have a Fujifilm FinePix A500... it has been nothing but problems. I kept getting the "card not initialized" error. I was finally able to fix that.
After doing this I took 8 pictures... now every time I attempt to take a picture the camera just turns off. As soon as I hit, tap, or hold down the button to take the camera, it just turns off with the lens still extended.
HELP PLEASE
when turns off it means the battery is low.

How can a fujifilm A160 be charged up? Just by batteries? Or whilst it's connected to my laptop whilst I download pictures from it? Thank you!
Your A160 can only be powered by the AA batteries or by an AC adapter, such as Fuji's AC-3v or AC-3vx chargers. It won't operate on the power from a USB port. If this answers your question, please rate the answer favorably.

It won't focus because ya lens is out of focus due to it being stuck had same prob wig my Sony worked out cheaper to buy a new camera than have it fixed.very fiddley to repair hope if bin some help
