The display on my Hitachi DAB radio KH-1150D

I had a similar fault that turned out to be due to a detached soldering connection which connects the display backlight LED to a rather small and fiddly circuit board. It is fairly easy to dismantle this radio to access the display, if you are careful you can DIY, just make a note of any internal wiring you need to 'unplug'. Once you have identified the bad solder you can repair by re-soldering, or replace the LED.

My hitachi tv does not turn on. I hit the power

Hello,

The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.

The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board.

I do not think it needs replacement, rather some defective capacitors are causing this issue.
Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.

The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)

You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.

What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).

You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors).
After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored.

Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.

Good luck.

I have a Hitachi Ultravision Digital HDTV model

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. https://homenol.blogspot.com/ https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, [Exclude the model number] in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts/

Samsung HL -5656 fan light blinking BUT no other lights blinking

Its probably not the lamp but I would try it first. Buy it from a place that will take it back as I suspect you have a bad power supply. http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp? check this link against your symptoms and then check out Pureland Supply for a new lamp. No sound

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

My Ultravision TV is now having horizontal lines. Do not know if it has a horizontal hold button hidden somewhere or is the TV going out? Can I fix it myself. Large screen

Can you try and see if it is your source that has the lines or the actuall TV that has the horizontal lines. What is your source? Direct TV, Cable TV or even off air Digital TV. If you remove your source do you still get the horizontal lines? If you do then what colors are they? Seems if when you remove your source input and you still have these H-lines then you have issues with your individual LCD palets. Especially if they are just Green, Red or Blue?

I have i hitachi ultravision that has a green line and makes double faces

If the convergence is so far out that you cannot adjust with your customer access menu then You will probably need the convergence ICs replaced & possibly a fuse or resistor or 2. Then a complete convergence will be necessary & I HIGHLY recommend having a professional technician perform this task.

How can i fix my hitachi ultravision it has green and double vision on top of screen

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors - Flickering screen - Screen image disappears after several seconds - Dim screen - Slow start - Power LED on, but no picture - Unusual colors and/or lines The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad. If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced. New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years. Check the cables, connectors and connections. Take it to a repair shop.

Picture blurred with yellow cast

Its a Dlp that uses a lamp---the yellow cast suggests a damaged Optical light Engine----Google the model number with problems and you may learn more---if the engine is bad it may not be cost effective to repair the set.

Replaced lamp and still picture is dim

May be time to have a technician look at it--I would suspect the ballast the powers the lamp but their are other possible reasons for this.

Temp light stays no picture or sound

Sounds like a fan issue. Cery common problem the fans tend to slow down over time and you can get a shutdown due to the fan alot of the time. Might even try blowing any dust buildup on the fan to see if that helps.

Screen has bad reflection. any light source in the room reflects off of the screen. nearly impossible to watch

The set uses a lamp (model indicated) for the light source--usually a 2000 hour life if OEM and may be getting ready to fail. Its a gamble but you would have to replace it to know. I often look when the lamp is removed to see if the glass pillar inside the lamp is bent from the heat or not--a sign of a bad lamp.
