Will not turn on.

Just wondering whether you have left this in a damp room thats got moisture on the circuit board.
Best thing to do is put it in a warm room for 2 hours plugged in and hopefully it will clear this.

The only other thing is to check the mains cable isnot faulty. You can do this at your local dealer.

ILO DVDR05 DVD Recorder will not play musical

Hi,

Let me be precise with the solution rather than keeping you in dark and offering tricks that might not work.

This usually refers to the Malfunctioning of Lens. Repair does not make any sense as repair would cost you more than half the amount of new recorder.

You could try different tricks :-

1. Run a Lens cleaner CD and see, if that could fix the issue.

2. Open the player. Take a cotton cloth and clean the lens and then see if it would resolve the issue.

3. It's rare, but i have seen sometimes these player's do have circuit problems. In this case, there is no point of repairing it.

4. You could also try to use some other brand CD's.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Unable to record

For several months I had a similar problem which was resolved using a cleaning disk. Finally that didn't help. I opened up the DVD recorder - removed a guard to prevent you from looking directly at the laser lens. I gently cleaned the lens with 91% alcohol on a cotton swab and now it records fine!!!!

Dvd is stuck

Before you remove the DVD player cover, try turning the device off and then back on to see if the disc will come out after the machine has rebooted.
  • Use the opportunity while you have the outer casing off to clean the lens of your DVD player.
  • Never work on an electrical device that's still plugged in.
  • Opening a DVD player may negate the warranty. Read yours carefully before you proceed.

  • Follow these steps to remove it
Step 1 Unplug the DVD player and take the outer casing of the DVD player off. This entails either taking out two or three screws or simply sliding one of the pieces of plastic in either direction.
  • Step 2 Locate the disc loader cover. The disc loader cover is located where the extending DVD tray finally comes to rest within the DVD player. It’s the part that holds the DVD loader in place.
  • Step 3 Bend the two tabs outward that hold the loader in place. This is a delicate procedure because you don’t want to hurt the device. The tabs are relatively easy to break since they're plastic in most cases.
  • Step 4 Slide the disc tray out. If your disc got stuck before it was read, it's probably still on this tray. If so, your problem is solved. However, if the disc was fully set and loaded, the job isn’t quite finished yet.
  • Step 5 Move the small mechanical arm that holds the disc in place over so that the disc and the reader are both exposed. Some DVD players will not have anything holding the disc in place. Instead, these devices use a system not unlike that of a common DVD case. The DVD will be locked in place in the center.
  • Step 6 Carefully lift the disc up and out of its loaded position in the DVD player. This may entail sliding the disc reading mechanism over slightly. This won't hurt the device as long as you’re careful. You should be able to access and remove the disc.

I have an ilo dvd ro4 and when I put a disc in it

Laser is either dirty or starting to wear out.It may also not be a compatible disc, not all brands of discs work in this model. The unit records on R+Rw+ discs 4x speed or slower.Variable speed discs1x-16x will also work.
Most of the time it is just a dirty laser that can read the disc,to clean laser use a commercial laser cleaning disc,Phillips and Maxell work well in this model.Put a drop of rubbing alcohol on cleaning brushes.

It says no disk for any dvd, but will play cd

HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more.

    My recorder will not eject

Try to unplug and let sit for 30 seconds then plug it back in.

If that doesn't work then the disc may be jammed. You can try to unplug the unit and take the screws out that hold the top cover on and remove the cover. Then see if you can access the disc or open the tray manually.

    No power on when connected

Switch mode power supply is very difficult to troubleshoot even for an expert technician. All SMPS operate at high frequency. If you have a miltimeter that can detect frequency, You can set it to that, then get the red prob close to the switching transformer, you don't even have to touch it with the probe, and you will get a reading in thousands of hertz. If its working. A guide to fixing it is way too complicated.

Disk error message appear when i turn on my pc..

Sounds like you have yourself a hard drive failure, or at least one in progress if it works now and then. Replace the hard drive, and install windows to the new drive. This should make it boot.

Once you have it booting, fit the old drive as the slave, and hopefully you should be able to copy any work from the old drive to the new one.

Ilo DVDR05 Vibration and loud humming noise

i experienced that problem before.one cause is the cd itself.there cd's that are too thick so the motor has hard time rotating that makes vibrating sound.the other ,don't put something over your unit.the cover is touching the holder of the cd and makes a sound.just do the necessary things to be done like don't put something on top your unit.if not, then a manual analysis of the tech is the last option.

    Customer Support ILO DVDR05 Recorder

I got my dvd recorder at wal mart. I have used it for a few months but never recorded with it. A friend hooked it up a second time as I got another tv. The manual got misplaced, and I can't find it anywhere. So I wanted to record this tv special, and couldn't get it to record. I contacted wal mart to try to get a phone # to contact the manufacturer to send me another manual. Talk about a run around. I was told that sansui made it, then orion, then cyberhome, then liteon, and also that it was a wal mart brand product. Everyone passed the buck. I contacted ilo tv, hoping they would get me in touch with the dvd recorder/player dept., they gave me ilo service, and ilo help. Nothing, I got nothing from either site. One site I talked to said the company was raided by the government and was now defunct. That is why you can not reach them. When I tried cyberhome, I got to their site, but nothing on my recorder, just sales on different machines. From all the negativity I have heard and read about concerning this product, it is no wonder you can't reach them. And it says alot about wal mart, they won't stand behind their products and they too are just out to make a buck, to heck with the customer, just give me your money, as if they don't have enough of a monoply and billions of dollars already. So I suggest you save your money and get a name brand recorder and throw your ilo products in the trash where they belong. If you haven't experienced problems yet, you will. We all learned a lesson in trying to save a buck, don't count on wal mart, think before you give them your money, and buy name brand products, you might think they are more expensive but at least you know they will be around to stand behind their products.
