Unfortunately due to them being made so inexpensively to buy there are no replacement parts for most of these TV sets. Its usually less expensive to purchase a new one then repair existing set.

If it will not turn on whatsoever then i suggest opening the TV and finding the model number on the power board which will have several large canister looking objects called capacitors on it. Google search this model number and also search on ebay and order a replacement board. This is heavily likely to be the issue.

First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board. if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having. The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.

The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board. You might be lucky it's just a blow fuse. Also a defective transformer can cause your TV not to power on.

All these can be checked on the power supply board.

But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board.You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.

The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)

You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.

What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).

You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress from www.shopjimmy.com.

Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board,but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.

That is ths symptom of dying power supply due to bad DC filter caps, that will be the first palce to check, it will get worst and go dead completely.

TURN YOUR TV ON AND KEEP PRESSING THE POWER KEY TILL TV SHUTS OFF, THIS WILL FIND THE CODE, YOU'LL HAVE TO DO THE SAME FOR TUNING YOUR TV BACK ON TOO!

This issue is related to a power problem in as much as the TV turns off on it's own.

The problem is consistent with overheating on the power supply board of the TV.

The power supply board of the TV has few capacitors and IC. If any of these IC's gets short or become weak, it can cause the TV to turn off on it's own.

When current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV. The current also goes to the weak/faulty part, then the current stops or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off on it's own.

This is a common problem faced by many other users too. To solve this issue, check the power supply board and read it with a meter and continuity tester, in order to detect the faulty part and replace the faulty part on the board which is short due to which power supply board

It's a bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician.

Check the tv power source like electrical outlet have power and work for other devices?Tries tv unplug,replug it back about an later for tv to do a resetting itself back to the factory setting.The tv now should be working again.If the tv still have the same problems,than the tv have a dead board that call the tv power supply board,that the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

That is from a capacitor going bad, You will need to have the capacitor replaced to fix the problem

Bad or blown capacitors. Look on circuit board for domed, bulging or leaking capacitors. USE CAUTION!! high voltage capacitors can electrocute you. They should be properly discharged before working on circuit board.

Tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy a used one.Not sucessfull tries another tv brand, tv base stand simular for the replacement,because the original tv company is out of business.

Have you tried taking the batteries out of the remote? Does it stop turning on and off when you do?

The set may have locked up internally; if you can, pull the AC plug overnight or for at least an hour to allow the circuitry to power down. BTW, our original Ilo remote, RC-370C, failed due to a thermal problem (freeze spray would make it work for a few minutes) and had to be replaced for $45. If it has developed a real problem, it may be junk; service is essentially non-existent. Wal-mart can really pick 'em.

RS232 is simply a serial data transmission / communication port. It has never had any signals involved in video. It has been used for data exchange between computers and for connecting peripheral devices like modems and printers to computers. It also has been used to connect a remote keyboard / screen, such as a "dumb terminal", to a computer as an additional I/O device.

In most cases the standby light might blink with different rapidity to indicate a fault relevant to the processor. It is possible that most of these indicate that there are errors in the processing section . Since there is a possible short or leak in the circuit the output driver section can take in huge current to trip the SMPS or from advice from the micro processor. Remove the power plugs and make sure that high voltage sections are discharged of the potential stored in capacitors. Look for visible signs of leak or of busted capacitors. Look for bulged capacitors or damaged components- burnt or busted. Use a multimeter to check the continuity or shorting in components, if so detach from circuit and test . If the voltage builds up and the set power ON and then shuts up then the suspected section must be checked in detail.

The processor must have the +5 voltage to the function properly , the +B and secondary voltages also must be checked to infer the fault. Trace with caution and in running through the signal path , circuit trail.
