This sounds like either the audio input is malfunctioning and didn't record sound to begin with or something amiss in the audio output circuitry that will require disassembly and trouble-shooting to diagnose and repair and can be done fairly inexpensively. First you need install the softwear (you can probably fined it online). Then you need a wire that conects the JVC to your laptop (you can probably fined that online also). Plug every thing in, turn on your camcorder, and open the program you installed. Finally fallow the instructions.

The user manual show that you can use part number AP-V14U for a replacement power supply cord for this camera.

You can buy a replacement directly from JVC from their web site:

From page 12 of the user manual for this camcorder (click here for user manual), the part numbers for the power supplies that work with this camera are AP-V14U and AP-V18U.

if your video camcoder has audio/video out.... try to buy a cable with RCA at the other end, and plug it to your t.v RCA port.

This model can accept SD card for up to 2GB only. You may be have more than 2GB card, otherwise there is an internal problem with your camera that needs repair. Hope this helps
