videos can be displayed on a tv but when i try to download to computer it says there are no video files.
I have a JVC Everio GZ-HD3AA camcorder which I recently purchased. I am able to connect it a TV and watch video files, but they all appear in black and white!
The downloaded movies to my laptop (Acer aspire 5630) with windows vista as the operating system are played in slow motion on the laptop screen.

When I play my movies on my camcorder itself, I get full sound and picture, but when I attach the camcorder to my PC via the provided cord; and try to play the movie either directly from the camcorder's memory or copy them to a folder on the hard drive, all I am getting is the picture, no sound. Do I need to use a special program for it to work? Windows Media has no problem playing the picutre, but it comes back with no sound
check your pc inputs control windows, unchecked the mute box if theres any.( double click the speaker icon in the taskbar, check the advanced icon)

tried converting moi files my videos to playable dvd i must be doing something wrong as number is always too big and dvd player says not supported file but can download my photos how do i fix this
as stupid and simple as it sounds:
rename the file extension to %filename%.MPG and it will play with your normal video player (I use VLC player).
found this solution on some other site, was sceptical, but it really works.

I recently got a new PC with Windows Vista and the software I got with my JVC camcorder is not compatible with Vista. I called JVC and they said I could use the Windows Movie Maker currently installed on my PC. I would like detailed instructions on how to transfer videos from my camcorder to DVD's using my PC using the Movie Maker software.
I plugged my camcorder into my PC, but when I look under My computer on my PC I don't know where to find where the videos are listed that are on my camcorder????
YES!!! I GOT IT!!! Ok so the comp doesn't recognize the damn camera. I went around the problem!!! OOO so excited!!! Ok sooo simple, you'll slap yourself! Ok. First plug in your USB cord to the comp and you'll see the options play on pc, pc connection, etc. Select CREATE DVD! (You won't be able to see or select any of the files you are going to import, oh well.) You should see the regular screen pop up that says import, create, view pictures. Click IMPORT PICTURES. It will automatically import both pictures and video. For file name write something you can easily locate, ex: AAAAAAAAAAAAAA (you can change it later) Then open MOVIE MAKER. Click on IMPORT on the upper left hand corner and you'll see their demo video listed. Click on picture and video files on the bottom right hand corner and select ALL FILES. You should see what was downloaded!!! YAY!! I haven't burn a DVD yet but the files are there and the program should do it from there!

Where could I find the free download for the driver....I lost the CD and I had computer problems...
Please, help me...
This camcorder should not require a driver in order to capture the footage. Start up your capture software, power-up the camera in VCR mode and then connect the Firewire cable. It should then allow you to playback the tape and capture the contents.
Here is the manual online:
http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/94/LYT1353-001A.pdf
If you need a simple program to capture the footage look to: http://www.virtualdub.org/
Your video-editing software (including Windows Movie Maker) should also capture the footage.

I too have this problem. I received Cyberlink Power software with my video recorder, but am unable to view any of my video footage when connected to the pc, which is also using Vista. The couple of photos I have in my recorder did go through though, which I thibk is strange.
always check for new firmware and download it and load it to your cam. may sure also tthat the file type can ber supported @ your cam.

I have a jvc gr dvl520u video recorder. I can't get it to power up or charge. It's plugged with the proper JVC adapter, but it won't turn on and the charge light doesn't come on
Take out the battery and clean the gold connectors. I had the same problem for months and finally I tried this and it worked perfectly afterward.
