My machine was working fine
Check your manual. Make sure the bobbin is not in upside down. Most bobbins must be put in with the thread pulling from one side or the other. If you put it in upside down.... strange things happen.

Did you try a new needle (flat side facing rear of the machine)? Sometimes a burr on it or being bent stops it from picking up the thread. Other than that, it may be the timing on your machine and unfortunately it needs to be done by a professional with expertise and special tools.

You can call Euro Pro, at 1-800-361-4639 but they only told my sister in law to send the machine to them, but they are in Canada and I have no idea how much it would cost. Good luck

Make sure that you have the needle's flat side facing the rear of the machine, or else it will never grab the thread. Also, make sure you hold the top thread in your left hand until it grabs the thread and you pull the bobbin thread up

Hi, try to turn your handwheel using slight pressure. If it moves a tiny bit, you probably have thread caught.in between the bobbin wheel that holds your bobbin case. There is an outer ring and an inner shuttle. Place a drop of sewing machine oil in the inside of where these two are seated together. Now watch your shuttle as you turn the handwheel towards you. You may have to apply some force but you will not damage anything by using the force you can generate with your hand. You will see the thread move out. Pull it out with your fingers. If it breaks or doesn't get all of the thread, repeat the process. On most machines you never want to turn the handwheel away from you. This will cause damage to the motor over time. Make sure to stitch it out in straight stitch to check that it's sewing correctly. Thread jams happen when you get nesting (knots of thread) under the needle plate. This occurs usually when you are sewing light or tightly woven fabric with a heavy stitch, such as an appliique stitch. Try using a light wash-away stabilizer under the fabric or in the seam to prevent this. If it's an older machine or a newer Singer, hold the end of your top thread for the first couple of stitches, too.

Your gears are not aligning correctly inside the chassis. I would suggest taking your machine to a certified repairman, because if you touch the wrong gear or tighten it in the wrong position, it may do a zigzag, but then your other designs will not work properly. Simple fix for the right repairman. If you open the chassis, make sure it is UNPLUGGED.
