I have a janone machine
Doreen:
use a screwdriver to remove the top housing (remove the screws holding the top housing on)... pull the top housing up off of the machine and reposition the spool pin and then reinstall the top housing.
Problem with spool pin
Doreen:
There are screws holding the top housing onto the machine. (The top housing is where the spool pin slid into). remove the screws on the top housing and pull the top housing up off of the machine. You will be able to reposition the spool pin to where it supposed to be. put the top housing back on and reinstall the screws.
How do you adjust pressure foot tension
you probably can't adjust the pressure on the foot, most models it is preset with no ability to adjust the pressure. Take a look at the top of the machine, left side above the needle area. If your machine has adjustable foot pressure, there will be a thumb screw of some sort on the top of the machine in this area, possible with a + and - symbol to indicate which way to turn to adjust the pressure.I have owned Elnas, Janomes and Singers and only one of them had adjusted foot pressure.
Bottom stitches looping
Sounds like the timing got thrown off. The Bobbin and top stitch have to meet in such a way that the thread creates a nice tug of war action between the two. This happens through gears and or belts that allow the two seperate motions to catch at just the right moment. If you try to sew through something really thick it puts a strain on the top action but not the bottom, thus throwing off the timing
Not sure what kind of machine you have, you may be able to you-tube some instructions on how to adjust timing. Unfortunately most repair places will tell you that the machine is not worth if in unless it is a higher end model (baby lock - denim) or something.
I've been in a similiar situation and was able to adjust the timing well enough that it sewed well again. Although my machine was never designed to repair the super thick denim and leather I was running through it I was able to make it work by having several different types and sizes of needles (sharps/balls) and going slow.
I know it's not really a fix answer but it should get you started looking in the right direction.

I just had the same problem tonight for the first time. Does anyone have a solution? I need to finish making Halloween costumes!
MY BOBBIN CASE FELL OUT
I assume you actually mean the metal ring that holds the small round case that the bobbin itself sits in. There are usually two arms that swing in to hold that larger metal ring in place and then there is a plastic and metal piece that sit behind the large metal ring. fit the plastic piece that may look somewhat like a scoop next to the metal piece that usually has the post the the bobbin fits onto and has a quite sharp tooth on it. The metal ring then goes on to hold those two pieces in place and the two arms swing in to hold the metal ring into place. The bobbin or bobbin case now can be put back in. Hint on metal ring placement: they almost always have a notch that goes at the very top where the arm on the bobbin case sits in when it is in place. You may find it easiest to do this with the machine laying on its back so you don't have to have 4 hands to hold everything in place while putting everything back in.
Good luck!

I have an old machine - a New Home SR2000 - I have
Looked around but found very little on this machine.
In the event a manual for the machine will help, you can purchase one at this URL:
http://www.sewingmanuals.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/New_Home.htm
it is item #60 on the list.
You might try Googling under the manufacturer's name and model to see if there is a Users Group.
Sorry I could not be of help.
