I don't have the same machine, but I have had a problem with my needles breaking and getting lost. I used a very small but strong magnet and it was recovered right away. Good luck!

You need to adjust the needle timing - called "timing the needle". How do to that is usually included in the service or repair manual for your model of machine. There are various online shops where you can order this. It's possible that there is foreign debris in the top tension assembly ,thread the machine and lower the presser foot and ensure that there is tension on the top thread

My brother LS 1217 sewing machine under thread is very loose. I tried all options like adjusting the wheels, tension, rethreading and played with the machine. No use.

it's possible that the machine could have a problem with themotherboard,, it would be a good idea to have the machine checked.

I have a similar Singer with a drop-in bobbin and there is a little trick to getting the bobbin holder in correctly. When you put it in push it forward (under the feed dogs) then pull it back (toward you) before you release the spring that holds it in. Test it to make sure it doesn't come out then insert your bobbin per your user manual.

you may have the bobbin in backwards to the way it's supposed to feed. if your talking about the bobbin not winding on top to fill, you have to push the lever over that the bobbin is sitting on.

Did you ever get your sewing machine to speed back up...mine does the same thing Singer Quantaum 5430, runs great for about one minute and then so slow I can't run it any longer
