Singer 3270c stops sewing in
How is your power cord? Has it been stored wound tightly? Take it in for service because it may overheat and destroy the machine. I hope that it is under warranty or that it won't cost you anything to diagnose it, but something is very wrong.

I think that you will find that it is your top threading or your needle. Put a new needle in with the flat side facing the rear of the machine, now totally rethread, according to your manual, with the presser foot up. When you have done that, leave the presser foot up, now pull the thread, it should feed smoothly, then put the presser foot down, pull the thread , now it should barely move. This usually seats the thread in the tension discs. If you do not have a manual, go to

My old Singer sewing machine
Hi, try re-timing the machine. Select "straight stitch," then take the bottom off the machine to see underneath the bobbin case area. Open the faceplate and look for two marks on the needle bar around where it enters the machine. Take out the bobbin case to see the hook. Turn the balance wheel toward you so the needle is going down. Stop turning when the needle is just about to start on its way up. The bottom mark on the needle bar should be just about to enter the machine, and the point of the hook should be just above the eye of the needle. If it isn't, tilt the machine backward and loosen the two screws on the vertical gear so you can move the hook to where it should be. Tighten the screws and put everything back so you can test your setup. If it sews a straight stitch correctly, try it on zigzag wide stitch. If it misses one side, repeat the timing process.
Hi, I tried to change the needle plate, but when I
Do you mean the bobbin cover? Look at your manual again and tell us what you are referring to. If, it is the bobbin cover, just slide the little lever to the right. Again, without seeing what you are talkign about, it is hard to tell what you mean, look at your manual it will tell you the right terminology.

My machine will not pick up bobbin thread, can you
You can try a new needle, with the flat side facing the rear of the machine. If, that don't do it, it may be your timing and that is not a do it yourself job. You need special tools and know how to do it, so you would have to take it in for service.
Light bulb not working
You need to change the bulb.
Most light bulbs in almost all sewing machines are located inside the face plate on the left hand side of the machine.
The faceplate is usually hinged at the back and it opens a bit like a door. It should open fairly easily and close with a click.
Open the faceplate and unscrew the bulb, it should be in plain view.
Look to see if it a screw or bayonet type.
Replace it the same way you would an ordinary bulb.
You can get sewing machine bulbs on ebay but you'll need to know which type of fitting it has before you buy.
Hope this helps!
When filling the bobbin the needle still goes up
I would call Singer at 1-800-4singer and see if they have a solution for this, or tell you where to get it serviced by a authorized service center. Hopefully, you are still under warranty. If, not take it to where you bought it and complain, sometimes the girls at Joann's have helped people out with problems.
