Recharge gas

The pressures are based on ambient temperature outdoors and temps indoors. Also, it is based on the seer rating for this unit. You have to use a chart so you can do the calculations. Unless you have this chart, you can't charge they system. I would not recommend doing it yourself. Have a professional do this as it can be very dangerous for the inexperienced.

Thermastat on LG Split system

The star with a face is sleep mode, each time you press it you will see a 1 then 2 then 3 up to 7 appear in the lower right corner of the screen. This means that the unit will operate for 1 or 2 or 3 hours then switch off. The house with key if pressed will give you the actual room temperature assuming the remote control is in the same room. It will return to setpoint temperature in a couple of seconds. The triangle with face is termed "Chaos mode" The unit will stay on a preset temperature probably 18c but the airflow will vary and the louver will go up and down irratically or randomly, as it tries to immitate a natural breeze. The fan only button will put the unit into fan mode (no compressor driven cooling), the fan icon with circle around is for fan speed which goes up each time it is pressed. Hope this helps.

Heat Pump won't cool house becuase outside unit won't stay on

Depending on your ambient temperature and installation, it is possible that your unit has been overcharged with refrigerant which would cause high head pressure and cut out on the HP control circuit.

LG C12AWR Air conditioner head fan not working

Check that the fanmotor can spin freely. If not, can be caused by seized bearing on left side of fanblade, or foreign object, insect nest stuck in fanblade. If however it spins freely, check that fanmotor is being supplied with voltage (you sound technically capable of operating a volt meter). If power is supplied, fanmotor is faulty and needs replacing. If no voltage, problem lies with the pc board. If you know someone who is capable let them check the relays on the board. Also you can check that all plug on connectors are making good connection.

I cannot find the swing button on my remote for my LG LS-D2461HS

The swing button is usually on the right side of the remote and has three little arrows pointing toward an arc or half circle line with arrow up and down. If you press this once it will go on auto swing, you can wait for the louvre to get to the right position and then press it again to stop in that position. You can also on some models change the left/right airflow direction in the same manner or manually direct the airflow to one side. If all fails, you can gently manually position the louvre up or down.

Remote is working- but unit won't turn on

check your remote control using your camera or cellphone camera as your eyes. Point the remote control transmitter to your camera and "on", light should emit in your remote control transmitter (means good remote). Check for reset or rst button in your remote control and push it to reset and test it in your unit. If wont work means either the receiver board or mean board is defective. You need a qualified tech. for this problem. For the mean time you can use manual button to operate the unit.

Thank you. there are some other signs i don't know about.

The black triangle means AUTO, means the fan speed adjust by itself from high-mid-low speed depending in room temperature but the unit is cooling for this function the same COOL mode. Plasma is in the remote control but it never mention in the manual.
If the unit dont cool check your temperature setting and mode setting it should be in cool mode and temperature setting should be 18C. But if still don't cool check some error code like blinking light at the indoor panel check how many blink appears to get the correct error code.. If the light is blinking 3 times it means that the room air or coil sensor is defective.

Air conditioner

Remote control units have diagnostic program in the
control, after 3 to 5 minutes of operating if the diagnostic
tools detect abnormal operation, then its shutdown the unit
to protect from damage. Thermistor sensor is one of the
parts that detect the operation of the unit. Out of range
or defective thermistor can shut the operation of the unit.
-
If your indoor and outdoor is clean start the unit in cool mode and monitor the outdoor pipes. If your suction pipe is icing or dry then your unit is under charge, but if your suction is cold and sweating then the system is ok and sure that the thermistor sensor is defective.
- Out of range thermistor sensor in both return air and freeze up sensor can cause the tripping “off “ the unit. The resistance of both thermistor is 8 to 10k ohms, so can test by using ohm meter
