Too hot little cold

Very possible your condenser is extreemly dirty and is turning off on a high pressure cutout. suggest you clean out condenser with compressed air. Brushing is not enough. also, check if condenser fan(at the compressor) is working.

I have an LG AC and the lowest temperature setting is 60 degrees

Lowering the temperature setting doesn't change the temperature of the air coming out of the unit it just lets it run until the room temperature gets colder. Check the temp of the air coming out of the unit. If it isn't as cold as it used to be the charge could be low. First though you should make sure the filters are clean and the coils. You should also check the actual room temp. It's also possible the unit doesn't have enough capacity to keep up with the cooling load of the room.

Some discharge coil in window ac effectiveness is reduced.what mi

Clean the air filter. It can be removed and ran under water. If the coils are dirty take the window unit out side, remove the cover and house out the coils. Be careful and try not to get a lot of water into the switches. Make sure it's dried out really good before plugging it back in. The number one problem for A\C units is dirt.

The remote does not work. how can I fix that?

First check the battery in the remote. If the battery is bad change it.

2nd is make sure the ribbon connector from the control panel window is connected to the main board.

3rd make sure the remote is not cracked or damaged. If it has been dropped the tranmitting window can be broken. Check to see if it is loose. If it is loose you will have to replace the remote.

4th.. sadly is replacement of the entire main control assy.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Temperature lowering problem.................

Are you referring to 16 degrees and 34 degrees?
If you are, it is not possible to lower the setting to 16 degrees, 32 degreees is freezing, so the evaperator coil would start to freeze up, and as the ice spreads across the coil............... Air can not flow through ice, so the air will stop blowing, till you shut the system down for a couple of hours, to allow the ice to melt.
This is the reason why these units are set with min. temp settings.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

I have a LG LWHD1800HR

our contactor may have failed.....With all the deep freezing weather we've had this definitely puts a strain on your heating system causing failures of parts.

here are some possibilities:--

The heater coil is open as in defective. You can apply all the power you want but if the heater coil is open it will not get hot.

The overheat limit that is on each heater in the unit is open on the heater that is not working. Sometimes there can be 2 of these on each heater bank.

Since the heater coils as you call them are getting 240 volts or there abouts the sequencers seem to be OK.

Kill power, disconnect at least one power wire from the heater,do OHM test to find the defective coil.

If this does not show defective coil then do the same basic test to check for a open overheat limit control.

This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

My LG LWHD 7000 is not heating.

heater coil located behing the front evaporator coil has burnt out. To access the coil you need to remove the a/c from its sleeve and the coil is located between the evaporator coil and the fan motor. An appliance parts house will have the replacement coil if you do it yourself.

Good Luck on your repair hope this helped

My heat does not stay on i have a heat pump

Sounds like its going off on a high head pressure. This could be caused from the fan not running or plugged condenser. Most likely a problem with the condenser fan motor.

When the heater is on, it begins to smell like

If you have run the a/c during the summer particles of dust and debris stick to the electic coils and once they are activated the smell is the debris that has accumulated on the heater coils. Run the unit for a few minutes and the smell should subside.

Good Luck
