Wont heat, air comes out room temp. its brand new.

In my opinion there must be a problem with the 4 way refrigeration valve that is not allowing the hot refrigerant into the interior coil. Unless you are an experienced mechanic this is not something that can be easily repaired (replacing 4 way valve). It is my recommendation to return it to the retailer for a replacement.

My LG Lan125HV works fine on air conditioning (

I talked to LG customer support (800) 243-0000. The tech told me that this model had a problem with the indoor thermistor. It doesn't fail with an open-circuit condition, so you don't get an error code. The thermister just goes out of range and believes your indoor temp is much hotter than it is. That's why the heating never comes on. I'll bet that, even though it ran in COOLING mode, once your room reached setpoint, it just kept on cooling & cooling ... because the thermistor was still giving a false, high temp reading.

So, I bought a new thermistor, P/N 6323A20042A. My unit worked fine. Until the next week when I turned heating back on and now I have the same problem ... gives cooling but no heat. Something is failing the indoor thermistor OR the distributor sent me an old-style thermistor, I haven't gotten determination on that yet.

Regardless, call LG and see if they can't direct you to a distributor for an indoor sensor. LG's warranty coverage for parts is a royal pain, unless you can show a receipt by a certified installer, you're not going to have much luck getting payment for the part. However, the thermistor is only $10. Just hope you get one that doesn't fail on you!

Our window AC/heat unit fan only buzzes when

so the fan does not spin and blow air? it could be a stick broken fan try free spinning it make sure its turned of. if fan spins freely its probably your start capacitor which is not to expensive.

How do you set on and off mode on air conditioning

Use the remote to enter the timer to switch off - OFF timer setting and the On timing after setting the clock on the remote
Once this is presetted the unit will continue to work shut of in the thermostat settings and fully cuts off power in the set off time.
later the set will come back in the set on time and work till the thermostat setting is reached.

What is the cn signal,

Hi!
That is correct, the remote/keypad sends the ON signal to the processor, which in turn sends it to the relay, when the relay is energized, lets current from L1 go thru to the board starting fan and compressor if Cool is selected. The fan uses 3 smaller relays, one for each speed that are activated separately (Fan Only) or together with the compressor (Cool).
So if the relay do not activate, the most common reason is not that is not getting the ON signal, it is because it is defective. If you remove the circuit card, the larger rectangular component with two flat prongs on top, one on which one end of the power cord connects to, its the Start Relay, (take a picture of it and label the wires to avoid confusion ) turn card upside down and de-solder relay, Buy one at any electronics store (about $5) and replace.
Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post!!

The AC doesn´t work when outside temp goes 100 degrees and above

Try using a garden hose to wash down the condensor coil (the coil that is exposed to the outside air).
During the cooler times when it seems to be working, check the temperature difference of the air coming out against the temperature of the air coming in (room temperature air). The temperature should be approximately 16 to 22degF difference. If you are not getting at least 16degF air, you most likely need to have your unit serviced to see if professionial cleaning or a recharge is needed. If you are getting the temperature difference but not getting the amount of cooling you need during hot weather, it could be a capacity problem. You can perform a quick test by using the calculator on this site:
http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home/air-conditioner-calculator.

I hope you find this information helpful. Good Luck! :-)

How do I change out the fan motor on my LG

Unplug the unit and remove it from the window. Place it on a secure surface for working on it. Take off the cabinet. Remove the fan blades and disconnect the wires at their terminations. unbolt the motor and bring it, along with the make, model number and serial number, to the nearest United Refrigeration or W.W. Graingers. Have the counterman match it up for you. Reverse the above procedures, remembering to replace the capacitor.

Just bought lg 8000btu with energy saver mode.

just because the unit comes lon, does not mean the cooling part is running. it may be just the fan running, to keep the air circulating in the room.

CLEANING

Remove it from the window, just slide it out from the shell, make sure there are no retaining screws, remove the front from the unit, and set it on a table outside, use a water hose and spray all debris from inside the unit, just remember not to spray hard stream of water directly into the coils on the evaporator,or condenser, you may have to remove some debris by hand if it is to large for the water hose to remove, make sure drain holes are clear, and let drip dry for about 30 minutes, then tilt unit one way,or another to finish draining the water, coils can be cleaned gently, just make sure nothing is restricting the air flow threw them, and make sure the fan has no objects in it`s way, then place the unit back in the shell in the window and you are ready for another hot hot summer.
