The issue is most likely due to the protection circuit in the final audio section. Most use a relay to disconnect the speakers in the event of an overcurrent condition. The relay can fail for a number of reasons.

Hello, my first question is does the light come on when you turn to Tape, Phono, Aux selection? If no lamp is blown, if it does come on then your tuner need to be serviced. FM tuner work is NOT for a novice. I would be glad to take a look at the unit. Thanks www.back2lifeelectronics.com

Hello, Do you hear the relay click when you turn the unit on? If not you have a issue with one or both amps. If you do get a relay click, check your pre-amp out/main amp in connections on the back. You may want to also play with your controls, dirty controls can cause this condition as well. If it does all that stuff then, you need to take it back or exchange it. If you like the company just exchange it, if not buy from some other company.

You need a cable that has a 2.5mm stereo connector on one end and two "RCA" connectors on the other end. Plug into the headphone connector on your device, and the other end to the back of your receiver's "aux" input.

Either live with it or replace unit since repair is not cost effective.

It sounds like a shorted speaker or to many on one channel. It could also be a failed output device. I think the tic-tic is the overload safety cycling.
