I'm assuming your recorder worked previously. That there were no other problems before the original batteries died.

I want you to pull the new batteries out. If you have a battery tester, check them (even though they are new). Batteries do have expiration dates, there effectiveness can diminish over time. IF there is any doubt, replace them again.

Check the contacts inside you recorder (especially if any of the previous batteries leaked). If they aren't clean and shiny, use an emery board to bring them back.

Replace the batteries paying attention to the positive / negative positioning indicated in the battery compartment. Then close it up.

Switch it on. If it has VOR (Voice Actuated Recording), toggle it.

That should do it.

the recorders record in mono.
you'll need a mono to stereo adapter plug (one signal to both ears)

are you sure that the ws-300m is not deffective?

if the problem persists you could plug it to the pc and open your device and manually deleting or formating the device, formatting the device will erase everything on it

WMA is a windows standard. You can get the free components for Quicktime from Microsoft's web site. This should solve your problem.

Does it show up as a removable drive, it should. If the computer "sees it" but the software dosent, try this.

Go to Disk Manager and find the drive it thinks it is and verify by un pluging and re pluging . Reassign this drive letter to one that is not used, further down the alphabet, away from any mapped drives.

I have run into this on several ocasions and this is the fix to get its own (always) drive letter.

Are you using the charging cables that came with it? That is a type C. Are you securely attaching the charging cable? A loose connection would keep the battery from charging. If you had a low battery, you would see a red light. That you have no light at all suggests there is no charge left in the battery. I'm not sure the reset will work with no charge which is why you ought to check the cables first. But turn it off and then hold down the Multifunction button for 10 seconds to reset it. Then turn it back on and see what happens. If you can, test the charging cable on aother device. If you have another type C charging cable, try it, just to eliminate a bad cable.
